thank you very much...do we have to send originals or copies of all docs along with 230...i have asked this ques before but am not getting teh same answer...just spoke to a fren of mine who had her IR1 interview last yr in india said she sent all copies of her documents to NVC and took originals to the interview...however others say they sent originals and copies...so now am confused...and I dont want to waste any time and wait for teh form to come via mail and then check.....BUT MAYBE THT WILL BE THE BEST...what you say Tay??

if you don't send in the originals, the originals must be presented at the time of the interview...you can send in the originals with a photocopy of each document if you want the originals returned to you at the interview...in my case, i sent the originals in with my ds-230 without photocopies and did not recieve ther originals back...so there are 2 ways of doing it, 3 if you factor the way we did it...good luck

DS-230 is filled out by beneficiary.

hey thanks but the reciprocity link does not have document info....i just checked...

...and I just checked the link again and there was a lot of info about every document you need to obtain from India - birth and marriage certificates, police certificate, etc. I don't understand what did you mean when you said the above... when I was checking for mine, I never knew before that the Bulgarian law does not permit the taking or sending abroad of an original public record. All certificates, therefore, are copies, extracts or summaries of records on file. I never knew before that we don't have exactly a police certificate but another document called "Court Records" which is having the same meaning for NVC as police certificate.

So, I didn't know all that info before I checked the reciprocity table and found out later it was all true. You are not the first Indian immigrating and requesting all these documents, so wherever you got to any of the issuing administrations I bet they'd already know what you exactly need.

also with DS230 i dont need to send the cover sheet after the fees are paid right?its my hubby who will have to attach it with the I864 packet...am i correct?

As I posted to you earlier you do need the cover sheet for DS-230 package. If not you, your husband will need it, it depends who will be sending the documents to NVC. Good luck

You have to send all the originals, don't worry, you will get them back at the time of interview...

You're a couple of months away from that...

I do think there is a cover sheet that needs to be sent along with all the documents and the DS 230.

But do read everything, and follow all instructions... you will be fine!

good luck and regards!
