No, not I. I think there are fewer people that go through POE's at airports due to most people travelling with cars and belongings which necessitate driving.

I would suggest that as long as you get to the airport early, that going through an airport would be fairly carefree! It's basically just identifying yourself as a visa holder, and having them stamp, and look at your paperwork and passport. Giving yourself plenty of time in case of a lineup is the key.

Someone might come forward to mention their crossing this way, but I can't remember any in recent memory.

With every POE it just depends how busy they are. We drove across the border but they weren't really too busy - it took around 1/2 an hour to do the paperwork - I believe there were like 2 or 3 other people waiting - but they had already been spoken to and were just...waiting.

It took half an hour but - he was actually training the other person how to process the visa.

As an example, when we crossed the border in to Canada last week there were only a couple of people in the office - it was on a Thursday. We were importing our car and saw a woman first, who then was going on her lunch break and she organized someone else to take our paperwork once we finished filling it out.

My Husband asked him if it ever gets busy there - the guy said yes, the day before there was an hour wait (glad we decided to stay an extra day at my Sister's house!)

Hi KIMBEAR! I'm actually going to be doing my POE at the Trudeau airport as well once I get my visa. I'm planning on bringing 2 big luggages and a small carry on luggage with me.

My plan is to get an early morning flight on a weekday because the airport seems to be way less crowded then. I'm going to get there about 3 hours before my flight which I think should be plenty of time for the CBP to get all my stuff done and then I'll just go sit in the terminal and read or do whatever to keep myself busy.

I POE'd through Pierre Trudeau in MTL in December 2007, and it was a breeze :star: The customs officers took my paperwork and processed me quickly, and didn't get all confuzzled when I told them I was activating a CR1 visa. All in all, I was in and out of there in about 35 minutes.

Good luck with your POE, I'm sure it will go smoothly

Hi Kimbear, I activated my K-1 through the Trudeau airport two weeks ago and it was a breeze. I actually flew into Mtl. from Halifax where I had a three hour stop over, and that was more than enough time to get through security and customs. Activating the visa didn’t take long at all; I think it was around 30 – 40 minutes in customs once I got to the front of the line. The customs officers were nice, one joked about how if I gave him an invite to the wedding he could probably get time off work and he wanted a vacation. I also had two large bags and a carry on with a laptop. Lugging my carry on around was the worst part of the trip.
