Problem with my name when filing for my wife's visa

Hi. My name's Peter and this is my first post on this site.

I have what may potentially be a problem for me when I apply for a visa for my Vietnamese spouse:

My name is "Peter T___ P____ B____" (name hidden due to internet paranoia). The "T___ P___" is my middle name.

My passport has "Peter T. P____ B____".

I generally use just "Peter P____ B____".

My marriage paperwork in Vietnam has all three of the above. My Vietnamese marriage license has "Peter P____ B____".

My question is: Will this be a problem for me when I apply over here in the US and at the Consulate in Vietnam? The officials at the So Thu Phap made a small fuss over the "T." and my middle name in general.

Has anyone encountered, had or heard about this problem before? These are all my names. They also have my SSN, passport #, date of birth and address. That should be enough to verify my identity.

What can I do to avoid or alleviate this problem? I thought about hiring a lawyer, even though I am confident in my ability to do the paperwork myself.

Thanks in advance.

OK, So lets just say your name is Peter Tasty Peanut Butter. Your middle name is Tasty Peanut. Your Passport has Peter T. Peanut Butter. But you go by Peter Peanut Butter.

Go by your Passport as that is the official Identification. And.............if it was me. I would just come up with one name for friends and family. Personally, I like Crunchy, but some have called me Smooth.

The first setback came during the medical. Naty had to do the 3 day sputum and then we waited 2 months for the results. YESSSS>came back negative

Went for her interview on July 16th and received her Pink Slip......Finally. Paid the AIR21 and I expect her here August 10th, 2009. Marriage will be August 21st, exactly 4 years to the day that we first met.

lol. names are a common thing that mess up everyone. try to make all your names the same. and use the name that is on your passport.

there is a space in most forms called 'former names' or 'previously used names' in which you can add your different variations.
