I'm not quite there yet but I tend to be prepared so I thought I'd ask. My girl is flying over solo. She wants to fly direct because she's worried about transfers. I'm all fine with that. The direct flight from Manila to LAX on Philippines Air each day at 10 seems to be the pony.

Can I just buy the flight for her on Expedia and have her print it out and go up to the counter? I do it here for people all the time. I wonder if anyone has any experience about Manila. Thanks.

You're better off to send her the money and let her purchase it there. If it's purchased with a credit card then they require the card to be presented at check in. I think others have been able to use a copy of the card but I don't think I'd trust that. Xoom her the money and you can be sure she won't run into that problem at the counter.

You may buy the ticket here in US through a travel agency and just send her the ecopy of the ticket. She will just print it out in PI. She'll be fine with that. It worked on me when I came over here in US. My former fiance (my husband now) did that to me. Good luck!

My husband bought my ticket at Vayama.com and I printed it and I brought with me a copy of his valid ID and the card he used to purchased the ticket ( but of course we covered his account number). i had no problems at all and they didn't ask for his ID's.

Just So happens Naty is on Continental as I type this on her way here from Manila. I purchased the ticket on Expedia and she presented the printout at the counter in Manila with no problems whatsoever. But, you mention Philippine Air. I would check with their website for official check in requirements. Good Luck

Comments : She recived the first notice from Manila on Valentines day. Perfect timing.

The first setback came during the medical. Naty had to do the 3 day sputum and then we waited 2 months for the results. YESSSS>came back negative

Went for her interview on July 16th and received her Pink Slip......Finally. Paid the AIR21 and I expect her here August 10th, 2009. Marriage will be August 21st, exactly 4 years to the day that we first met.

no not all the time...my hubby bought the ticket to a travel agent here in hawaii using his credit card and the travel agent just emailed me my itinerary...so i printed out the itinerary and went to the PAL office and got my ticket...so no more hassle at the airport.
