When I just phoned the NVC to get a status update she said my case is in additional processing and they just needed it for more time. Is this normal?? It has been 2 weeks since they received it from USCIS. Is this pretty normal for them to take the 2-4 weeks to process it before they send it on? Or should I be worried? Thanks for any help you can offer.

It's a total random procedure that some people get "stuck" in. You can hope to be out anytime between 20-52 days, it has gone down in the last few months. Please see the thread started on the subject. Its nothing to worry about really...no one has gotten denied or anything of the sort..just another "roadblock". Im sorry you got stuck (F)

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...p;#entry3195964 It's mostly k-1 visas, but there have been a few K3's.

This explains it to the best that we(the ones that have been stuck) can put together

Good Luck!

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!
