No, you do not need to. But, the decision is yours to make. My wife used her Maiden name as her new middle name as per Philippine customs.

Its depends on which middle name you want, either follow the US method or Philippines method. If you made a mistake, you could change your name after you have you acquire your US citizenship free of charge.

The report of marriage and passport amendment or new passport showing your married status will use the paternal family name as your new middle name. If you want your greencard to match your passport, you must follow the same convention when applying for AOS.

The custom as I know it is you drop the mothers last name, (maiden last name) that is the daughters middle name. The fathers last name is now her middle name then the husband last name

I have two first name too. So when I aaplied AOS I used one first name, dropped my second first name then my father's family name as my middle name then used my husband's last name.

so its like this as a sample:

Before:

MARIE ANA - 1st names VALENCIA - middle name CASTRO -last name

Now(used in my GC, SSN, renewed passport)

MARIE - ist name CASTRO - middle name HOLMES - last name (family name of husband)

My green card shows my two first names, my midlle initial whis is my fathers surname, and my now married name.

Follow the Philippine custom so you wont encounter problems when you amend or renew your passport
