I have a question regarding paying for the $455 visa processing fee.

Does the U.S. sponsor have to do this from their own bank account, or can I (as the beneficiary) pay it via money order from where I am in Australia?

You can pay by money order, however I am unsure if they would take one from Australia, though it is made out in Australian Dollars and is by Western Union. I just sent my fiance my half of the fee, he deposited it into his bank account and then wrote a personal cheque to Homeland Security. I would suggest that you not pay by money order, as you cannot track it. The added bonus of the petitioner paying by personal check is that once it is cashed, you can look at the picture of it online in their transaction history and get your WAC number to track your case.

Payment for the I-129F K-1/Fiancé Petition must be payed by either check or money order drawn from a US bank.

They are not concerned with who pays it - just that it is for the correct amount, has the correct payee and is from a US bank. (It is advisable - for tracking purposes - that you try to use a personal check if possible but a money order is fine.)

It must be paid by check or money order drawn on a US bank. doesn't matter WHO pays it, as long as it is in US funds on a US bank.

Also it is a petition filing fee, NOT visa filing fee. The visa fees will come after the petition is approved and will be paid at the time of your interview.
