None of our photos had any date stamps on them and there was no problem.

I think it will become fairly obvious if the pictures don't seem to match the way you look today.

Best wishes.

Greetings,

We have TONS of photos of us together over the past 6 months. Our photos do not have embedded time stamps. Are the time stamps a must? I was thinking it doesnt really matter since you can buy software that adds the stamps to printed photos.

I just spent all afternoon at a camera store doing a very cool photo book. I ended up with 38 pages! I didn't count the photos, but there were many of us together (somehow I thought we didn't have enough until I started downloading them!). I also have pictures with his family overseas. None of mine had time stamps, but I did put in captions explaining the dates, places in the photo book. I'm sure you're fine!

Our timeline:

2/88: We met in Sydney, Australia at a youth hostel! He's Finnish, I'm American-both were in our early 20s at the time and fresh out of college (so couldn't afford to visit each other's countries after that!). We had a three-day romance, then went our separate ways. He actually was going to Sydney a week later, but decided at the last minute to cut his trip short in another country and go early. Wow.

1988-1998: Wrote "snail mail" letters/sent Xmas cards, but lived our separate lives. I married someone else, divorced in 2006...he lived with someone for years and then that ended.

10/08: Because of a series of random life events, I Googled my Finn Man and found him (but no link to his email, and the website his name was on was in Estonian so I couldn't even read it!). It took me two weeks to find a link to someone else, who forwarded my email to him (we were both single at the time thankfully!!!!). The email went to his spam folder but he happened to check it that day and responded back to me immediately! This was after 10 years of no contact and almost 21 years of not seeing each other after we first met.

11/08-5/09: We traveled back and forth to visit each other. Love at first (second?) sight!

7/09: Married in Helsinki, Finland...after meeting randomly 21 1/2 years ago and finding each other again!!!!!

8/13/09: I-130 sent!!!!!!!!!

Rest is on my timeline!

I pick up my photo books (I did two so we can keep one just in case!) tomorrow, but know that they turned out great! It's worth the money. Our first photo on the front page was from 1988 when we met in Australia. How funny is that? The next is 21 years later...long story, but it's a hoot to see how we looked way back then. You should do it! You can create one at any camera store (and I had tons of help-the employees were bored!). I know I'm going way overboard but you're right-better safe than sorry!

On a "somewhat" related note, what is the verdict on sending videos? I have a DVD of my wedding (from the blessings from my in-laws, through going to the municipality, the whole affair, the photos afterwards, the waltz, the reception, etc, etc) and would be more than happy to make a copy, but won't if it is just a useless endeavor....

I don't think that matters... No one of our pics is stamped either. As someone suggested above while you're looking different on pics and have labels under pics with the dates and explanation about each one, you'll still be fine. Don't panic! Congrats on case complete and good luck on the interview

This couple is asking at the interview level. Yes, they ask for photo album, which I had with me. The CO asked for them.

Time stamps printed on the photos prove nothing. Forging these time stamps is a trivial task. Example: when I was in Thailand printing up some photos, the photo shop there decided to use the date and time I submitted the photos as the displayed time stamp for some bizarre reason. Needless to say, I had them reprint the photos without the times.

K1: 01/15/2009 (mailed I-129F) - 06/23/2009 (visa received)

AOS: 08/08/2009 (mailed I-485, I-765, & I-131) - 10/29/2009 (received GC)

What about color photos vs. black & white? All our photos are digital and we don't have a color printer. I'd rather not spend time and money going somewhere to print them in color, unless it's necessary. What are you guys doing in that regard?

Is that so unusual? It's actually closer to 3 months (2 months and 21 days, to be exact). I have seen many similar timelines. In fact, if you look at the June files spreadsheet, you'll see that many of us already got our interview appointments (and some of the K visa people even received their GCs w/o an interview!)

Things have gone fairly smoothly so far - knock on wood! I don't think we did anything out of the ordinary. We didn't even use a lawyer but did the paperwork ourselves.

I know it takes some people a lot longer - to be honest, I don't have the foggiest idea what rhyme or reason the INS operations follow.

All I can say is, even though the timelines vary case by case for no obvious reason, it seems to me that a vast majority of the people do get approved sooner or later.

Good luck, I am sure good news is afoot for you guys too!
