Would it be preferable to have 3yrs IRS transcrips and 3 yrs of signed 1040's?

That shows both the detail of the basic form and acknowledgment by the IRS

that it was filed.

Also I get an "end of year statement" from employer showing income for the year.

If income is much more than sufficient, can we skip listing all bank/brokerage accounts?

And oh yes, the GOLD BOUILLION at UBS :secret::bonk::rofl:

If you qualify on income then no need to include info regarding assets.

Tax transcripts are WAY more valid than than 1040s. Hard to prove you filed the 1040s with IRS.

I'm surprised USCIS doesn't require tax transcripts yet. I imagine they will in the future.

!040s only mean you filled out the forms. You can't show/prove you filed them. Having signed them doesn't mean squat!

They are worthless without W2s or 1099s. Even then W2s and 1099s can be faked easily.

K1 denied, K3/K4, CR-1/CR-2, AOS, ROC, Adoption, US citizenship and dual citizenship

!! ALL PAU!

Your tax returns are only one indication of your ability to support. Just the 1040s have worked for me. USCIS and DOS can verify easily, if there is any question about them.

I went through a mess in BKK. They want the transcripts. The IRS is actually pretty cool about faxing them. They seemed to ignore my 1099s and W2s.

(I'm going for the IR-1 and blowing off the K-3. Even if it takes an extra couple months, it's worth it to not have to deal with USCIS again)

Note:

Please fill out I-130, wait 6 months for approval, then 3 more months for an interview. (Unless of course we've bombed your country into the stone age, then you qualify for expedited processing.)

Welcome to the USA!!!

You must attach your entire tax return, all forms and schedules WITH your w-2 (end of year statement) OR an IRS tax transcript, which you can get free from the IRS

3 years, as opposed to 1 year is your option. If you think it "looks better" go ahead and add them. I did not for either the interview or AOS. No questions asked.

Yes, it's much harder to dig up my own tax docs and get those ducks in a row.
