so it means she does not have to bring any paper with her other than relationship stuff

i am hoping she go through in the interview smoothly but u never know what can happen

i am praying for the pink next week it will be all over for us. keep us in ur prayer.

Abby,

Just a heads up, we also sent all original documents to NVC and got the letter saying all have been received and accepted but during the interview, the pre-screener took my NSO BirthCert, Marriage Cert, and Marriage Index again. If I were you, bring extra NSO copies. And by the way, the documents were NOT returned to us.

Good luck.

Our time line for CR1 visa took only 5 months and 1 week or 156 days; from the filing the I-130 on the 03-12-2009 to Approval of NOA2 on the 05/13/2009, then Interview on the 08/18/2009 at Manila, Philippines. We had a daughter on the 11-12-2010 named AISHA JOY means HAPPY LIFE.a1_opt-1.jpga2_opt-1.jpga3_opt-1.jpg

Actually, some say that your application is already pre-judged before your fiancee is interviewed that is why its so quick. I think before the interview itself, they already check the papers for completeness, accuracy and whether you are eligible or not. Those who take time might have some problems with the papers that's why they get the blue slip, but for those that are good, they don't really need to scrutinize you on the spot (interview day). It's just like formalities sake and for you to complete the additional req'ts needed such as medical exam, police clearance, etc.

In my own experience, when the embassy worker checked my papers ( not the interviewer itself), I saw a small note indicating "approved." When I got to the interviewer, I was actually so nervous, I got incoherent(haha). But the interviewer didn't mind, she barely listened to my answers and checked my paperworks(for completeness) in a breeze. Goodluck! ;) ;)

INTERVIEW PROCESS

Question:

Why are the visa interviews so short? I was asked only a couple of questions and the interviewer hardly looked at my documents.

Answer:

In a typical 8-hour day, a consular officer may need to interview 150 applicants or more, which allows about 3 minutes per applicant. The application form, if completed thoroughly, contains most of the information needed to adjudicate the visa. Additional documents are examined only if the consular officer needs to obtain further clarification of the applicant’s situation
