Hi everyone. I did my bio today. I have clean fingers with no cuts But when I was doing fingerprints some fingers scan good and its show green light, but some show red light and some numbers on the screen. Lady trying again and again but screen still show the same, sometimes different numbers. And now I worry about it...

If she wasn't able to get good enough prints for the FBI to use, you will receive another biometrics appointment. If the 2nd try doesn't work, then they will have you come in and do your fingerprints using the old fashioned ink method. If that doesn't work I believe they then require you to obtain police certificates from wherever you have lived here saying you have no record.

They will send you a another biometrics letter. If you don't receive any letter, then your fingerprints are fine. You don't have to do anything until - if- they notify you.

There are some posts in the Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus forum about this, if you want to search. Apparently it sometimes happens that either the persons fingers or the equipment just don't print well. The good news is that I don't think it ever stops the process - just slows it down a bit.

where i work it deals alot with fingerprints, say for instance a teacher, they go to their local police for scan/or ink method, ok they come back unreadable, then they have to go to (dont know what its called but thru the teachers) they scan, maybe again unreadable, so they are sent to my office where they know what they are doing and the prints will good before they leave. So its not so unusual for this to happen, just have to get the right person doing this,

Your fingers will need to be amputated and replaced.

You will porbably be OK, worst case is another biometrics appointment. It is more likely a problem with the machine than your fingers.

It's not so much a problem with the machine as it is the person, sorry to say.

My husband has always had difficulty with his prints at biometrics. His hands are unusually warm all the time - not sure if this is a result of his blood pressure problems or his 'thick European blood' :P but he's never given a set of prints easily.

I had problems getting fingerprinted when I had my done (computer generated) and had to have them re-done a few times. The guy told me for some reason they had problems fingerprinting Canadians, never a problem with any other group. Something about the lines not coming through clear off the fingers. He then added that maybe it had something to do with all the snow and ice in Canada. I said "Yeah that has to be it." LOL. ;)

What do you mean re-done a few times? You got another appointment?

Because if they will send me another appointment, I just imagine how its gonna slow down my process, I got appointment date after month from NOA date.
