Always best to arrive early, & have your passport & appt letter with you. You go in security asks you to be sure you don't have a cell phone. They have you fill out a form, you take it to a desk where someone stamps your appt notice. You go to a 2nd waiting room & they call you back to take your photo & finger prints. In & out in 20 minutes! Piece of cake!

Come a little bit earlier. All you need is your passport and the appointment notice. Also make sure you know your SS number as it is one of the questions on the form you`ll fill out. Other questions will be your weight, your height, so make sure you know them in pounds and feet. That was something I had to figure out on the spot.

Then you get a number and wait. When it`s your turn they`ll take your picture and your fingerprints. That`s it.

You will also need your marriage license, a recent government photo ID (if you have one) and to be on the safe side, anything showing your present address (envelop from the bank, utility bill, etc. etc.) The actual biometrics takes less than a half-hour and is easy. But there may be a line ahead of you.

We are going to the biometrics appt on Wednesday of this coming week. Cecilia does not have a SS number yet. She has not been given one. I hope that doesn't cause problems for us.

Not at all, I didn't have one either at the time of my appointment and it wasn't a big deal. Just leave it blank. I would recomend you arrive early just so you don't have to wait more in line. Good luck, you should be out of there in 20 min.
