I have a question similar to this one. I am requesting my husband to come to the US but I havent changed my name here in the US yet should I changed my name to my new married name before I filed a request for my husband. The thing is that if I do that, my name would be different from boh my marriage certificate and my birth certificate.

Please any help will be greatly appreciated!

Thank you :help:

I may be wrong but here in the U.S, you do not have to change your maiden name to your married name once you are married. You are welcome to keep your maiden name and use it to file I-130 for your husband.

Your marriage certificate will, of course, have your maiden name on it because you're just getting married. But it also has the groom's name on it... That's proof enough for USCIS if you decide to change your name later.

Good luck!
