Does the I-864 expire?

As many of you know our case was sent back to the CIS for further review. In preparation for/if/and when it is re-affirmed I am gathering all of our information for my husbands second interview. I got thinking, does the I-864 expire? I signed it over a year ago, and I can't find anything that tells me. I am going back to Morocco next month and I would prefer to take everything now rather than wait and mail it, since the mail system there is so reliable.

Anyone know if it expires? Will I be safe to take my 2005 returns or should I take an entirely new form?

:help:

I posted this in the IR1/CR1 forum, but I feel more at home here.

Thanks to all!

Thanks to all!

Our case (K 3) was returned to USCIS for further review where it was reaffrimed and sent back to NVC who set up another interview with the consulate (this time for the I-130 CR 1).

We had our second interview May 2. The only thing we needed was another medical exam a new police certificate. I did add other items to our file for the consulate but they were not needed.

If you really want to be on the safe side, bring what you think casa might ask you for. I ceratinly would continue gathering the pieces for your proofs of relationship. One never knows the minds of the CO's there.

Hope this helps!

When you get the date for the interview, my best advice...if at all possible, be there with your husband. I grilled my husband on two very important things in preperation for this interview:

1> The first thing to tell the CO is>>>

MY WIFE IS HERE WAITING OUTSIDE IF YOU NEED TO SPEAK WITH HER.

2> The second thing to tell the CO>>>

I HAVE A HUGE FOLDER FULL OF PROOF OF OUR RELATIONSHIP.

Poor man didn't get to utter a word until about 11am (interview was scheduled at 8am).

Hope this helps. Feel free to ask any questions.

Thanks for the advice Chi, I certainly hope I can be there for the interview. I tried to get my husband to hold out a little until I came but he is in such a depressed state right now I don't think he can wait.

I will be leaving on August 17th and returning on September 12. I was hoping that maybe they would have it done at the CSC by now, but at this point I just don't know.

I did talk to our congressman on Friday. He called them and he told me that they are preparing to send me a notice, but they wouldn't tell him what it was. It could possibly be the response to the ombudsman, but seriously I am hoping it is "THE" notice. I just want this over with. In fact, I don't even dare get my hopes up because of all of the lies I have heard from the varying departments in the past 1 1/2 years. I just can't wait to get on the plane and between mine and my husbands state of mind recently I really am not sure either one of us wants me to come back.

Sorry, now I am being a whining puke....lol

Any word on your case Chi???? I have been reading and reading just waiting to hear your news!

I soooooooooooooo understand. My husband was bad too.

If you have not yet received the NOIR then I don't think youcan count to much on having the interview during the time you are there. Is there no way to get you husband to understand how important it is for you to be with him for the second interview?

I don't want to sound negative, but I believe that is why we made it and my friend did not. She was unable to be in Maroc for the second interview (this time for the CR 1, first time was like us for the K 3) and to this day she has no idea as to what the CO put for returning the case to USCIS the second time. Now if you can afford to go twice then there is no problem.

I know there are plenty of people who say one does not need to be there for the interview but I was taking no chances this time. I hope that you are able to do the same even if it is difficult if your husband has to wait.
