Filing our petition to remove conditions. What did you all add in and did you get called in to be interviewed in person? If you havent done this yet, I'm not looking for advice - just facts from couples that already did it. Thanks.

Went through the process back in 2005 with the 1st wife. Trying to remember everything we sent in --- it included:

-letters from friends who had known us during our married life

-copies of lease and mortgage papers showing both of our names

-pictures, boarding passes, hotel bills showing both names for vacations we took together

-copies of insurance documents -- life insurance, car insurance, health insurance, dental insurance

-copies of joint bank accounts

-copies of joint investment accounts

-pictures of us with family at holidays, etc

-copies of joint tax returns

-copies of utility bills with both of our names on it

-copies of letters and invitations, etc addressed to both of us jointly

-copy of letter confirming LSU Union membership with both of our names

I'm sure there were some other things that I can't recall at the moment. Our file was huge. This is one area where you probably can't overdo it. I think it's reasonable to assume that the more evidence of a legitimate relationship you send in with the initial petition, the less doubt there will be in the reviewing officer's mind and the less likely you are to be called in for an interview.

Basically send anything that shows that the 2 of you have a normal, healthy, joint married life together.

Our biometrics appointment was scheduled in New Orleans for the day AFTER Katrina hit. Obviously, we didn't make that appointment and our case got held up for about 9 months total in all of the confusion in the aftermath of Katrina. We ended up having to go all the way to Memphis for the biometrics, but were never called for an interview.

Good Luck and remember -- like with all things in the VisaJourney process --- as long as you have a legitimate relationship and submit sufficient evidence to that effect there's no need to stress and worry about the outcome. Just do what's required and enjoy the ride.
