Green card holders don't. But there citizens relatives are.

I never said it is never going to happen. Today's political environment in New York is such that immigrants are benefiting from that. It can turn out either way in a future. Today, I don't believe it is possible, at least up until next elections.

There is nothing illegal in getting the benefits your state is offering.

Can I ask one thing... if this State subsidized health insurance was not available would you have still got health insurance? or is it a case of you need the states help to be able to get health insurance?

I would have no choice but to buy health insurance myself. I would not obtain insurance had it considered a public charge. I'm not expecting any help from state, neither I'm a person who tries to be dishonest and to deceive authorities.

Recently, as I started asking people in New York how did they obtain an insurance for their parents, I've found out that many of them received it from state in first 2 months after arrival. It would be foolish not to use the help the state is offering, isn't it?

If it is available in your state and you are 100% sure it is not going to be classed as a public charge then of course your parents should access it.
