That's why we're talking about convincing more than one person. Think about the power of the teachings we 'rediscovered' with Pythagorean and Euclidian mathematics. Much of their contributions were simply ignored- different from not being prepared to apply them.

The original question seemed to be aimed at each person as an individual.

I thought their mathematics weren't ignored as the Romans knew about them and so did the Arabs later.

I think there is a lag of a few centuries between Pythagorean knowledge and what the Romans picked up on. You could say that this includes Euclid since Pythagoras learned a good deal while in Egypt.

The Arabs were the ones that actually brought forward a huge amount of the math from Euclid's time to be used in all kinds of applications- I believe more than a thousand years after his time.

I think I'd like to go back 2,000 years ago and meet this Jesus of Nazareth character.

Heck I'd settle for a meeting with those fellas that wrote the Constitution to add a few clauses in them amendments. That sure would settle a few debates now and there about what things to interpret and what other parts to take literal. You know... like making sure the document wasn't cherry picked out of convenience. I could take a real big Sharpie and write it in in real large and legible words.
