Still Waiting for NOA2

Hi Everyone, I'm still waiting for an NOA2 from the Vermont Service Center.

We received our NOA1 on March 1, 2006, four months and 9 days ago. Since then there has been nothing, not even a touch.

At least one couple here on VisaJourney filed their I-130 application after mine at the same service center, and was approved last month. I don't understand this, because our application was in a week before theirs, and, according to the USCIS, they aren't even processing applications from March of 2006 yet. I'm happy for them, though.

The USCIS webiste says they are processing applications from December 24, 2005, but the VSC told my senator they were processing applications from February 2006. What happened to January?

I'm still frustrated, sick with multiple sclerosis, and missing my husband like crazy. He's eight hours away, but they won't let him into the US because he has visa applications in.

Augh! :crying:

hey

I applied in Feb 06.haven't heard anything??what did your senator say??can you brief it or do they give that type of answers??Please help me?

Basically both senator and congressman said that the Vermont Service Center is processing applications that were received on February 5, 2006 - and that mine would be processed when they got to applications received on March 1, 2006 - they couldn't explain how some March applications had already been processed, or how some January applications had yet to be processed.

Neither could they explain why the USCIS website still says the VSC is processing applications from December 24, 2005. I suspect that keeping the processing dates inaccurate and so far behind keeps them from being inudated with letters and calls from people like us!

They will write a letter to the service center for you, but have no legal authority to expedite your visa application (this is what they told me). They are willing to write the letter for me because of my diagnosis and illness with multiple sclerosis (which happened months after I turned in my application). What they can do is check on the actual status of your particular application - and they can call the Vermont Service Center directly.

So far, I've been unable to ever reach the Vermont Service Center, even via the methods posted here. The Department of Homeland Security Office in Vermont says no public can contact the VSC directly.

Everyone says the Vermont Service Center is so fast and faster than the others, but I see people from all centers whose applications have moved faster than mine. I'm at 130+ days for my NOA2 so far, and don't expect to get the NOA2 until the end of August, which will have been 180 days.

Hey try to relax, you wont make him come to you earlier when you go crazy and it doesnt help your disease either.. As I stated before I am the beneficiary and I am the one with the autoimmune disease. We cant do anything either. Have you tried to send in a request for expediting the process? It might work in your case.

Stay strong

Many of us are sharing the same frustrations, I assure you. CSC has my I-130 application, with an NOA1 of 02/09/06, and I just read that someone with and NOA1 of 03/13/06 at the same service center was approved last week!

It's all so random to me. From all my analysis of the timelines on this website, I have yet to find any pattern.

And so I just keep praying......

ONE DAY AT A TIME....

REMOVAL OF CONDITIONS

12/30/2008: Overnighted I-751 package to VSC

01/06/2009: Check cashed

01/06/2009: NOA (arrived 01/09/09)

01/23/2009: Biometrics appt letter received

01/31/2009: Biometrics scheduled

05/20/2009: APPROVED

06/23/2009: 10 Year Green Card arrived

Have a read HERE which will give you some understanding of what happens at the service centers re processing...particularly posts by meauxna.

As Isabel said, you may try to have your case expedited. No guarantees as they do have strict guidelines but it would be worth a shot.

General Expedite Procedures By Fax

The VSC has always been strict with respect to approving requests for special processing. Individuals who are seeking expeditious handling can FAX the Center at (802) 527-4816 to request an expedite.

The fax line is available 24 hours a day. Expedite requests are reviewed Monday through Friday from 8:00AM to 4:00 PM.

General Expedite Procedures By Mail

The VSC will also accept EXPEDITE requests through WRITTEN Correspondence.

A letter requesting the expedite of a case along with any supporting information should be mailed to the VSC. The envelope MUST be marked with "EXPEDITE REQUEST".

Please mail expedite request to:

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services

Vermont Service Center

ATTN: Expedite Request

75 Lower Welden Street

St. Albans, VT 05479

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

A detailed explanation of the situation should be provided in a support letter, and any documentation needed to support the expedite request should also be submitted. Applicants should not submit more than 5 pages of material.

Cases that are not clearly approvable will not be expedited. Requests to expedite petitions or applications that are incomplete will not be granted. All supporting documents not in English must include a certified translation. See “Documents Not in English" section. There is no appeal of the denial of an expedite request. Please see our USCIS Expedited Criteria guidance.
