Medical in Vancouver

Now that my paperwork is at the consulate in Vancouver, I'm trying to be seven steps ahead and get everything done and organized.

One of the things I keep reading on VJ is that showing up to your medical early isn't enough...you have to turn your paperwork in early too, if you want to get out of there quickly. So I was wondering, what type of questions do they ask you on that paperwork they give you when you walk through the door? Is it just name and address type of stuff, or should I be ready to transcribe the names and dosages of all my prescriptions etc...?

If I need something like the address of my family doctor, I'd like to know now so I can look it up, for instance. lol

Anyone out there who has had their medical in Vancouver who can help me out?

As far as I recall it's your name and address and then it's like a questionnaire whether or not you've had certain illnesses etc. I would say be ready with the names and dosages of your drugs just in case, but I can't remember listing mine on the forms. You don't have to fill out any of your family physician information either as far as I remember. My medical was last year though. You are definitely right, they give you your number according to what order you hand your forms in. So get there super early. We were there before they opened, and were still number 4 in line. Granted, it was a lot better than being number 10, but you catch my drift!

Good luck. The medical was seriously the easiest part of the whole process, besides the interview. You'll do just fine!

Show up early they say be there for 6:30 but I got there at six and I was already #6 in line. The first page you have to read that you consent to this medical blah blah blah and rewrite a sentence in your own writing saying something along the lines "I have read, understand, and consent to...". The second page asks about your medical history. Since I answered no to all the questions I can't really remember what they are. And the moment you are done with those two pages haul your a** up to the lady and hand her everything. If you finish first, you're done first which therefore means you're the fastest.

Here is my review it may have more details I don't remember anymore

Like others have said, if you do take any medication be sure to have the name available and any doctor's letters if applicable. The questions were yes/no, super easy, I was #4 in line for getting things back quickly and they take you in groups of 4, with the blood tests being the first thing, carlso was in my group...she was #1...lol...I think Jesse&Chris too...there was someone else who posted here a while back, but I can't remember her screen name, I think she was K-3.

Thanks for the feedback. Sounds like it's a breeze in terms of the paperwork.

Beans: I'd already read your medical review...good stuff. It really helps to know what to expect going in. God knows it's nerve-wracking enough in the first place, so having some idea of what is expected helps to keep things in perspective.
