I used to live in the UK but still have a Q as a USC...

I'm going to visit my fiance in a few weeks. They always ask 'why you are coming', should I say to see friends & not mention my fiance? We are filing the K1 but it's not gotten an NOA2 yet. Don't want them to think I'm jumping ship.

Do I need any papers from the States?

Thanks!

I just got back from the visiting my fiance in the north and i was honest and said i was visiting my fiance for a week while we go thru the US immigration process and she just asked to see my return ticket and that was that. She was very friendly and polite.

Good luck

And so he did what countless punk-rock songs had told him to do so many times before: he lived his life

10/07/2006 WEDDING DAY!

11/14/2006 AOS packet made it to 'the box' after being overnighted.

12/02/2006 Paul had biometrics

12/14/2006 AOS Forwarded to CSC AND AP Application approved.

01/17/2007 First touch of 2007 at CSC

01/20/2007 Touched AGAIN (also the 18th) come on...

February: Oops, RFE for a REGISTERED marriage certificate. Oops! Overnighted it.

02/28/2007 Paul gets email letting us know his GREENCARD is on it's way! It's done...for now!

03/09/2007 Paul's greencard arrives. And breathe...

We began with mailing the I-129 in on February 27, 2006 so the whole process took us approx. one year.

Good luck out there!

It is a risk you take when travelling during the process. My wife was refused entry at Gatwick when she was my fiance. They asked me loads of questions that i didn`t know the answer to(on the phone). We had not been engaged long and i had not been goign out with her family so my knowledge was a bit uncertain. Then on the other hand if you get caught lying then that is bad too. If you go with truth then be sure to take anything that shows you are going back to America. good luck.

Yikes. I will take what I have then from the States. I'm going over for a friend's wedding (only 10 days) so I think it will all be fine. Plus I know his family very well.

If you are going for a friend's wedding--you should just say that--because that is the truth.

I was in the UK over the Fourth of July visiting my fiance. When asked about the purpose of the trip, I just said that I was visiting my fiance for 10 days as I was. No further questions were asked. It shouldn't be a problem as our lawyer had advised us that it is completely permissable. Hope that helps.

Chris is coming here in next week(US)...we have decided to say that he is coming for a friends wedding.. Which is true...and I gave him the invitation along with a letter from his office mentioning his leave from work and when he will be scheduled to return. Plus his return flight ticket.

So no lie... just not mentioning me.
