I totally would. If there was a situation where a newborn baby got separated from mom and I was still lactating..yes, I would breastfeed it.

Well, I'm not talking about going up to some lady, taking her baby and putting it on my #######. I'm rather talking about things like back in China??? (was it china?) after an earthquake where one woman breastfed four babies because they didn't have anything to eat or rather couldn't eat. It was an extreme situation where it was either about living or dying. If a friend of mine asked me to babysit her baby and the little one threw a fit, doesn't want to take the bottle, I'd probably ask that friend if I could try to breastfeed but respect her wish if she didn't want me to.

If however, I found a baby - lets just say - in front of my door and I happen to be lactating anyway then I would totally nurse. Like DanielParul said, there's nothing sexual about it and the baby won't remember or be traumatized for life.

my first thought was no. It is strange, but I agree with Eveline, in an extreme situation, I probably would do it. If that would help a baby, I think I definitely would.

When I was breast-feeding my baby, there was a friend with a baby the same 'age' - 3 months old. She is a doctor and at the time, she was studying for her residency and had a very important board exam coming up. I figured that she would need a good night of sleep, so we arranged for me to sleep over the night before the exam, and I breast-fed her baby during the night so she could be rested in the morning to take the board exam. All went very well, her baby girl did not complain, my baby boy was waking up in between and I managed to breast-feed both of them during the night

I guess this is how mums with twins have it going. ;)

None taken. I offered to do it just because I knew that she needed some rest. And if I was in her shoes, I wouldn't mind asking for the same favour. I remember those days when sleeping all night long was a luxury

i would defenitely breastfeed any baby that needs my milk with out hesitation. My baby (7 mos) nursed by my friend everytime i'm out working on the documents needed for the interview, though i didn't ask her to do it but my baby doesn't want to feed in the bottle so my family who was left for him ask her to feed him on her breast milk, and she was very much willing to feed my baby., so i would do the same if i will be ask.

God bless to all!!

If that was the only option for the child to eat and i was able...totally

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

My first response was, why not? But I was only considering a situation when the child did not have a mother. I think I would feel strange breastfeeding a child whose mother was still around. I think I would have also felt very strange about someone else breastfeeding my child.

I wonder how people would feel about an adopted child.
