I honestly did not keep track, because I really didn't want to know!!! All I know is.... a lot!!

Two months I went over my cell phone minutes and thought I was going to die! Those charges along with the long distance.... heck... I could have flown to see her!!!

wow .. you guys really should check skype ..well before we have skypein we used to spend about 50 $ a month on skype ..it costs me 2 cent a minute ..then I have skype in and now it costs us only 12$ every 3 months and we talk as much as we can and we pay nothing extra ..well listening to you ..I think we did good in calling ..although we talk every day 5 hours at least on the phone..wow.

I already have skpye installed but never actaully treid it. How does SkypeIn work ? Does the party you re calling have to have broadband connection ? or with skpein, system assigns you a number and you just give it to your friend n have them call you ? Can they call from any landlines in the world to your skypeIn number ?

Lord the phone charges were awful. We used to spend about 200 to 300 a month till I found an unlimited calling plan to the UK from AT&T for 40 bucks a month.

We just couldn't get used to being on the PC to talk to each other no matter how much money we saved. We only used chat when we were both at work. And my older PC didnt allow for headset privacy that you can get with Skpye - the jacks on the back of my case are the 90's variety.

It was just easier to use the phone.

I read about SkypeIn and it does sound like a very interesting idea and can save you and your family abroad a whole lot of money on phone calls. Unfortunately SkypeIn doesn't include my homeland(india) so calling india through skypin would cost me even more ! But if your destination is included in SkypeIN, i would definately recommend it !

I used to spend between 300 and 400 /month. Then I got Luz a vonage. I just ordered a vonage in my name with a phone number local to me. Then I sent it to her. She plugged it into her DSL and POW! she has a local number! We talk for hours each day! I can call her from my cell and at home and she can call anywhere in the USA for the $15/month charge. So very worth it!! If your fiance has a DSL/cable internet it works so good. If your fiance doesn't the get them one! Even with the DSL/cable charge figured in it's still way cheaper that using the regular phone!
