I am new to this forum and really appreciate the wonderful information and assistance you provide.

I just received an update on the status of our K1 application (from the CSC), it reads:

Application Type: I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)

Current Status:

On July 8, 2006, the document we made based on the approval or registration of this case was mailed directly to the person to whom issued.

Does this mean it has been approved? I have a bad feeling that they did not just simply say "Your case was approved".

Has anyone else received this type of notice?

I thought I saw someone post something similar--it had something to do with an RFE.

I see by your timeline you have recieved one and sent it back--perhaps USCIS hasn't recorded it yet.

My comment was based on what they told me when they said the called the center.

Since then we have learned that these are probably not approvals. We are all still in a wait and hold mode.

NOa2 by mail yet?

Here's an update: I did NOT receive anything from CSC as of today Saturday, July 15, 2006. I should have received whatever it is by now, if it was mailed on July 8th. The RFE only took 3 days.

Just to add some wild speculation:

Doesn't the new IMBRA law require the Immigration service to inform the foreign applicant of your responses to the RFE form. (That you ARE or ARE NOT a sex offender). Perhaps the "document they made" is being sent to my fiancee in Ukraine. That might explain their cryptic email and why no one has received these documents, because they are being sent out of the country.

Again, just some wild speculation.

Date I-129F sent: 02/28/06

Date I-129F receipt: 03/06/06

Date I-129f RFE: 06/28/06

Date RFE reply: 07/05/06

Date I-129F (NOA2) approved: 07/24/06

Date I-129F received by NVC: 08/02/06

Date Embassy Received Application: 08/15/06

Date Embassy Interview Scheduled: 08/21/06

Unfortunately, 6-days notice is not enough time for us to prepare for the interview. We will have to ask that our date be rescheduled :(

I like the theory - but I believe that information is supposed to be provided to the foreign fiance at their interview.
