Hi fellow VJ's specially June filer who took their biometrics walk in. I have a question here, what did you do? you just drop by at the ASC office? or you have to explain to the officer why shouldyou take your biometric earlier than the original appointment. Like mine I have an appointment August 14, but I have plan to go tomorrow Aug 7 Oakland CA

Some advice are really appreciated!

Thanks

When we went ( 2 weeks early ) they did not even look at the date, handed hubby the paper to fill out and good to go. This was in Hackensack, NJ

Why is it that the only one who can stop the crying is the one who started it in the first place?

I did walk-in biometrics, when I explained my situation, they only told me that "you have to wait if your could. We have to do for the people who has appointment today first, then we will call you".

I waited for 4 hours, finally they did that for me.

From what I have seen here on VJ it depends on the office. Here is Boston it is pretty strict. It's definitely worth a call to find out.

My husband went for a walk-in here in Fresno, CA. He said there were six people in line before him and only one behind him. It was about 12 noon (that was actually the time they gave him for his originally scheduled appointment). He did not explain or say anything, just handed them the appointment notice. Within 15 minutes he was called in to do the Biometrics.

I read somewhere that they will take walk-ins if there are less than 10 people in line, so better you try to go at a non-busy time of day. I think the busiest times are probably first thing in the morning, late in the afternoon and lunch time.

But what is the advantage of going early? Will it result in to making things fast?

If you want to go in earlier to get it out of the way go ahead.. it wont hurt. They just put a time on there so they have some kind of system... good luck

In my case, I'd say it did help getting approved faster (please see my signature)...

Doing a walk-in/early Bio is worth a try. Most ASCs don't even ask why you're there earlier than your appointment, while some are pretty strict and will turn you away. If you have a valid reason, that would be better, in case they'll ask you why.

Mae,

Do you think that the reason of coming early is because I am not very familiar with the area and need my husband to drive me there would be enough? Just thinking about it since I am scared to drive in Atlanta with all the traffic.
