You just know that once a month for a few days there will be some real doozie opinions coming from the bench

Wow, sinking a bit low there aren't you?

We have the executive, legislative, and judicial branches of government. So where is the balance of power if the executive branch nominates the judicial member, and is confirmed by the same party legislative branch?

Feel we live more in a dictatorship form of government than a government by the people.

But we the people elected the legislative and executive branches. Its a polarised country - its an illusion that there is any middle ground at all.

Indeed.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

The president gets to put his mark on the high court. That the way it has been all along. It's only in the last 30 years or so, since Bork, that the process has been so politicized with this ####### for tat. Roberts actually was approved with a good margin, although Alito was slammed before being approved. The response was to do the same for Sotomayor.

It was pretty clear that at this round, there was little intention to actually follow their own advice in examining the judicial record. Otherwise the confirmation would have been even higher in her favor.

Yet another round of politicians being obtuse for the purpose of being obtuse.
