If I had a stay at home husband, I'd like to come home to a spotless house, clean, well-behaved kids at a friend or neighbors house, him in the kitchen naked except for an apron, a glass of chilled wine on the counter, my delicious smelling dinner simmering on the stove, my favorite music coming from the stereo, and a nice massage before dinner!

jg - saw the movie julie and julia last night and it was so sweet. meryl streep was a friggin hoot. it was so good...i highly recommend it. the movie was kinda long....hubby probably would have rather seen gi joe but he took one for the team....

I think my daughter and I are going to see it this weekend. I'm telling you, read the book. It is soooooooooooooo good so far.

That sounds awesome. If I had kids, I definitely wouldn't want to stay home with them all day (so I say now, having no kids). So having a husband at home who handled the kids, cooking, cleaning, etc, to where I just worked & relaxed sounds good.

But if there are no kids in the picture, I need him to get to school or work!

Tonight was the first meeting for the newest book club at church. We're reading Dr Myles Munroe's "The Purpose & Power of Men."

There was actually an equal number of men & women tonight, for the first time out of 3 book clubs I've participated in.

We discussed three main things tonight: What makes a man a real man? Have the roles of men changed over the years? Would we ever be comfortable with a man (ladies) or being a man (men) who stayed at home with the children while the wife worked?

I pose that last question to the VJ community, as there was quite a bit of debate about it at the meeting: Would you ever be comfortable with your husband being a stay-at-home husband or stay-at-home dad?

Hey Nat,

Personally I don't have an issue with my Husband being a stay at home Husband or Dad , but he will most like have a problem with it. Depending on the circumstances, if we have newborns ( LOL we want twins) and he is willing to stay home and care for them to save on day care expenses to support our family I will stand by him and encourage him as well. With that said he would definitely have to be a willing participant and have no issues with this role because if he does this will only cause problems in the future that can sour the relationship. If I am blessed to able to make enough money to support the family as a whole on one salary while he is home that is fabulous. Remember its not about me or about him it's about the totality of the FAMILY so however it gets done we work together to make it happen!
