ATTENTION YAARDIES FILING THE CR1 !!!!!!

My RFE was for my marriage certificate. I had submitted the hand-written paper I received from the civil registrar. USCIS wants the computer-generated version of my marriage certificate ::sigh:: Lance has them so he'll have to pay 2500JA to FedEx it to me.

Hope all is well with everyone :-)

I was tempted to do that as well  (send the white hand written copy) but my husband went and got the computer printed one and it took like two days and he sent it via DHL(very fast i got it overnight from Mobay)

How much did he pay to send it with DHL?

He paid exactly $2513.00JA  thats $28.54USD as of today

Hi Marie, I used the handwritten only for USIC, but the computerized one for NVC. If he sends it reg mail from Kingston, it should only take 5 days. Do not waste your money on DHL for one piece if paper.

thanks Rox!

How's Joel liking the US so far? Did you post your interview experience? I can't wait to be over this journey....driving me

I'm not sure when we can do this but I do like the idea of meeting up around there some time soon!

This weekend is Outside Lands Festival near our house & I'm not even moving the car. If we leave, we'll never find parking again...at least not until Sunday night when it's over!'

Next weekend is the Monterey Reggae Fest that I may decide last minute that we need to go to. I'm more into roots than him so I'll probably enjoy it more than him BUT Richie Spice is on the line-up for Friday so he'd like that.

September 11, Richie Spice is also supposed to be at Shattuck Down Low although from what I've seen on-line, it seems a little iffy at the moment. They have fliers but the tickets aren't on ticketweb yet as shown on the flier.

Also the weekend of September 12 is the Power to the Peaceful fest in the park & it's FREE! Cherine Anderson, Sly & Robbie & some other decent artists (aside from Michael Franti) will be playing.

Anyway, have some decisions to make as far as what kind of fun to have over the next several weekends. What are you doing??

Oh yeah, that menu & the prices look good!! Only thing that threw me off is the 'lumpia'?? I thought that was a Filipino dish?

Joel is adjusting quite well, I don't cook JA food, so he has accepted eating what I cook. Marie, our interview experience was very easy, they asked about 3 questions and then she said we were approved.

Note: the CR1 visa is the best, his stamp in the visa is equal to actually having the green card. Joel already had his SS# from when he wasworking here, so we don't have to wait on that. His stamp allows him to travel out of the country, so we will be going to the Bahamas the first week of Sept for our short Honeymoon. My GF is giving us the Hotel has a late wedding gift.

He just applied and got his own cell phone with Sprint in his own name. His driver license allows him to drive her in MD for six months before he has to change it. When we get back in Sept, he will start some serious job hunting.

The only thing that went wrong, was the mysterious BIG BROWN ENVELOPE was put into his luggage that was under the plane, so Custom had to walk him to get his luggage before they could check him in. That made him miss his connecting flight, but they put him on the very next flight out.

Hang in there it will be over soon.

Where is Lawny??? :crying:

I am SOOOO tired this afternoon. Not sure how I'm gonna keep my eyes open for class. I've been up the last two nights till almost midnight reading what I need to for these classes. Last night we did a big grocery shop so by the time everything was put away & I started reading, it was definitely going to be a late night. I think I need another shot of caffeine...down to the cafeteria I go for some frozen yogurt & a Coke!

Yeah, this is a good time of year for entertainment here. Finally mister will get to see a little more of why I love San Francisco so much. I know we'll never be able to afford a house here but I'd at least like to be here with him two or so years before we leave the city in search of cheaper digs.

I don't get chummy either....at least not until I've seen you a few times & we've talked a bit. But, when you are talking every day about how you have no friends & no one likes you (sometimes he needs coddling :luv: ), then it's time to make some effort & that means learning & remembering some names! I tell ya!

You're lucky Joel is cool with your cooking! That's so nice. Lehi likes most of what I make but sometimes, like with the eggplant parmesan, he calls it 'white people' food & after a taste won't eat it again. Oh well, more for me! LOL!

That is great that he's already in the mix doing it by way of CR1. Definitely has its perks although may not be as fast as K1.

OOPS on the brown envelope in the luggage! :bonk:
