omg.... :crying:

Congrats JA Long time cominggggg

Hopefully Kingston puts some fire up their butts and sends you guys papers.

Im still waiting for my step daughter to be approved too. Hubby is approved and here. I thought we could automatically bring her over but now I know that we had to file for her separately with an I130 because we did the CR1

:ot: Question

WHY is it taking so long for my step daughter's I130 to be approved when hubby's was approved in 30 days. I filed in may and still nothing.

Morning (from the West Coast) Yardies!

I sure started when heck of a topic huh??

Ells, did you know from the baby ticker in her signature?

No, I didn't see that....just knew from her 'have something to tell you guys' post that there could only be a few big things to tell us.

I'll catch up with guys a little later. Love you all and thanks for the support.

:crying::crying: Tears of joy!! Jawi I'm so happy for you!

so lost so i definetly need some direction. I met my man in 2007 when he came up on work visa (this was his 2nd year) He left to go back to Jamaica so he could be with his son we took a "break" because i could not handle the distance but still talked every now then (when my phone bill was not gettin shut off for obsessive international calls) July 9th 2009 he proposed but i have not seen him since october of 2007 finances are keeping me from going to visit him and plus i am in school. What are my chances of getting him approved on the fiance visa im thinking of filing for him in like october or november so i can save the money for all the fees I have phone records for him calling me and me calling him im just so lost and hope that he gets approved because i miss him and can't wait to start planning our wedding

First, let me say Welcome to VJ and the Yardie Forum--you will definitely get all your questions answered here! :star: Second, one of the major requirements in filing for the k1 is that you have to have seen your fiance in person within the last 2 years unless there was some religious reason (and you must have proof of that) as to why you couldn't. They're gonna question how you're going to marry someone that you haven't seen in the last 2 years. Doesn't matter that you have phone calls, because really you could be calling your cousin (not that I'm saying that's what's going on...this is strictly from an immigration fraud viewpoint). Also, when submitting the petition you're going to have to submit sufficient *proof* of your relationship. Phone bills are a start. But they're going to want to see pictures, passport stamps, photos, hotel receipts, flight coupons, sworn affidavits from friends attesting to the validity of the relationship (and how they've witnessed you together), etc. I understand the financial strain that this LDR can put on you. I have been doing this for YEARS! But is there absolutely NO way you can get down there before you try to file? Really, I don't think it can work until you do. Maybe when the other ladies come up here tomorrow they can offer some other advice, but IMO it's gonna be hard to prove the "genuine" relationship. Jamaica is one of those *high fraud* countries and they scrutinize everything! Good luck on your journey, and please feel free to keep chiming in and asking questions. If you need any help, let me know! :star:

I can't say it any better than Mrs. P did but just wanted to say welcome Vriley!

ells - i have to agree with philly and dada on this one. why are you making sex sound like a chore? it should be something you look forward to. are your hormones out of wack?

Nope.

Ells...having been married and divorced...my suggestion is to ALWAYS make time for it, even if it's just a quickie. Your relationship (especially now because it's new) needs it to stay strong...no matter how tired you are.

Love these especially in the early morning

I HATE mornings & I'm truly a monster until about mid-morning (10-11ish) when I wake up so he knows better.

(Did y'all notice me changing the subject so Ells doesn't feel ganged up on?)

I'm okay but that was sweet of you Nat! (L)

Well, personally, I think it depends on what is going on in life, Ells. If you are sitting around and he's sleeping or watching TV or something and then decides he wants it at like 1 a.m. and you are getting up early......Well, all kinds of other scenarios. If the timing is off, it's off. You have to find a way for the timing to be fairly compatible. I don't agree with the give it up whenever he asks theory. It's a joint effort and the time has to be right for both. It takes some time to work that out at first in the adjustment process. You'll figure it out. Just hang in there.

As far as planning and him not wanting to........Plan something and just dont' tell him. Spring it on him like it was the last minute. You see where I am going with that?

Exactly JG! A lot of times, he doesn't want it either...we're tired. In fact, he didn't even start asking for it until my first night of school when I didn't get home until 10:00. Quickies never end up being quick with us so if we don't have the time, we just don't have the time. I told him Friday night would be no problem because we don't have any obligations & I'm ready for tonight. He just didn't agree with the concept of planning for it. Before I was in this relationship, I always thought it seemed a bit ridiculous to schedule it when I'd read articles where counselors recommend such things but now that we're together & so much is going on, I can totally see the need for it. Better to schedule it than not have it at all.

My friend that was with me in Jamaica when I met my husband, loves to tell the story on how I met my husband...and her role in it..I mean everyone she meets must know my story. Then I have other friends that thinks my story is a real live fairy tale...like a Stella. Athough, the story doesn't have many similarities.

Are you ever called the Stella by your friends?

kk were u in my house LAST NIGHT!!! i told roger i hate that we are gonna be stereotyped as a "stella" relationship cuz we are JA/US.. kind of embarrassed i think..not of my man..LOVE HIM but that is where everybody minds go he said, but we are NOTHING like stella.. i told him it doesn't matter..

case in point.. we went to a dinner..

a friend noticed his accent and asked where was he from

he told her..

My co-worker resigned...I don't know if I should be happy, sad, or more motivated. All I could think of is who is going to do his work...will be me?

There are quite of few of us on here. How many filing to do think for fiance or husband visa are submitted and more importantly APPROVED from Jamaica in a year? Would you encourage any of your friends to go to Jamaica to meet their "soul mate"?

When my girlfriends/female family members start talking bout how their man this and their man that, I tell them see, that's why you need a jamaican man. I said I will plan a "girls" trip for 5 days and then they can see for themselves. I really think its not about being Jamaican with them its about age difference. I think older women/ younger men is "coming out of the closet" now sort ta speak. I try to encourage them, you have to find a MATURE youngin with the same goals as you in order for it to work.

There is a whole chapter in the "Intimate Issues: 21 Questions Christian Women Ask About Sex" dedicated to the topic we've been discussing yesterday & today. The chapter/question is about when he wants to do it but the woman doesn't. They make that very point, Mrs P, on how it means A LOT to the husband & his connection to wife & how saying no is such a harsh blow. They even give you 3 ways to say later/no that won't hurt him.

The book also talks about how women want it more or less depending on where in their cycle they are. The suggestion was that whenever you're at the point in your cycle where you feel ready, to go all out.

Maybe I should get that book. I agree, my libido is very linked with my cycle. During ovulation, I'm a madwoman & often we go every day for a week or two. Then, things get busy (like they did this week with school starting) & we go without for a week or so. It's not always me saying no, enough times, he doesn't have the energy at night either.....the way we've been running around & travelling all over lately, it's not that unreasonable to be exhausted. Then as mentioned, when cramps are just killing you, you'd rather roll up in a ball than spread 'em. And despite how everyone else feels, sex is not EVERYTHING for me & fortunately for me, while I wouldn't count on him going without for too long, he's okay with just being close even if we don't get it on. I can't remember a day that has gone by that we haven't at least spent some real quality time cuddling on the couch or in bed together before we go to sleep. Most nights I tell him to scoot closer so I can hug him up before we fall asleep. That seems to get us by the dry spells. Sex is just not the end all be all for me & I find it overrated the majority of the time even if it is 'good'.

We're not ganging up on Ells we are just stating our opinions which by the way you haven’t gave urs Ms Nat. We all have different opinions some ladies agreed and some didn't no biggie....

I 100% understand having a lot to do & needing sleep. If I noticed that my husband was wanting it too late at night, when I'm ready for sleep, I'd explain to him how earlier in the evening or first thing in the morning would be better. Then, be proactive & start things myself at a time more convenient to me.

I've explained that & it does help. Sometimes it's just necessary to start right after Seinfeld  if we want to squeeze in the nookie that night. I could probably be more proactive but right now, all I feel is stress & constant sex is low on my priority list.

So, update on the wedding saga - She came back a day early from her honeymoon - He refused to leave the room, do anything with her, unless it involved gambling and spending more of her money - Not only did he cash the checks, he opened credit cards in her grandma's name, and cleaned out the woman's bank account -

She's filing for divorce -

:ranting::protest: What a SOB!! I really hope that guy gets what he deserves....that is just the lowest of low. One of the most despicable things is taking advantage of seniors.

Shoot afta des convos a lot of yardie men might get lucky today. Hopefully Ells will log on get stimulated and put it on Lehi 2night!!!!

I'm not all that stimulated but you all have inspired me to just go home & go for it even before I make dinner! :P

Yes, our 1 year is this weekend. Since 1 year gift tradition is paper... I am getting him Buju tickets! LOL. I told him to write me a love letter on PAPER!! hahaha!

We are just going to hang out and party all weekend... hope it doesnt rain too much.

Tierra starts school on AUGUST 31... She is staying with Nana Saturday night and gets to go clothes shopping on Sunday.. gotta love my mother!

I think tonight I am going to cook something...drink something and then give Louis a little something-something! Looks like all this talk has everyone in the mood!

Congrats Cat on your anniversary this weekend! ENJOY!

LOL nope no egg sandwich. The turkey sandwich was a success yesterday so I sent another one today.

:lol: Wonder if he would like an egg salad sandwich??

LOL @ JaPrincess...lol...

Hopefully they'll hire someone who will actually do their job so you don't get stuck holding it down as usual.

I do ALL the time! Only half-joking usually....just tell them to try & choose someone who isn't only out for a visa or a sugar mama (of course there's no way to really know but just don't ignore the obvious signs). I've said it before on here but when watching that show (still can't remember the name) about the plus size women looking to score the plus size dude, I'm always yelling at the TV at the nice ones to 'GO TO JAMAICA SWEETIE!'.

That's so funny.

It was funny how when my husband got here everyone wanted to "stop" by. And I live like 45 minutes out of the way of all of my friends. LOL.

They are happy for me...and I get a chance to explain that sometimes Americans (not all..some) take advantage on being a citizen..people from other countries can't travel as freely as we do. They didn't understand why my husband couldn't just come up and visit. No concept of visitor visa and process. Neither did I before meeting him. I did know about student visas because I went to school with some people from other countries here on their student visa.

Mrs. Palmer I am feeling okay today.. still a little disappointed I don't have a "IT'S A GIRL" signature

But I'm alright

Aren't the boys much easier to tell? So it could be lending toward a girl right? I'm being optimisted here...

Son = Spread his legs wide open to show the world...

Daughter = Legs crossed, she said stop being nosey lol

Also both pregnancies were alot different from each other. I was super depressed with my son and full of life with my daughter.. I threw up from 3 months to the end with my son and threw up only the first 3 months with my daughter.

Don't they call it Cougar. Cougars are seen more positively now. Kinda becoming the in thing I guess.

I'm one of those women that wasn't more mature for my age. But then again, I'm still consider young at 28 I guess.

I wouldn't encourage them to go to meet a soul mate. But I do think women (esp Black women) in America tend to think there is a scarcity of men, and due to that thought, they're willing to accept the unacceptable from men. So I do encourage my friends who complain about the lack of Black men in America to travel to countries in the Caribbean or in Africa, just so that they know that there ARE plenty of men in the world, if you don't narrow your focus to the USA.

Well stated Nat! And so true! I had to travel to other parts of the world to realize I WAS appreciated SOMEWHERE!
