JG, that sounds SO GROSS. A mental image of a bunch of little rat-looking creatures.

My brother was all into animals & pets growing up. The parents let him get some kind of rodent (either hampster or guinea pig). Well they seemed to eat each other (the babies kept disappearing). Then one of the grown ones escaped the cage somehow and was found in another part of the house. That was the end of that pet.

We also had a labrador retriever, Charlie Black. No one knew we were about to get a dog (not even my mother, lol). One afternoon my mother picked us up from school and we got home to find a puppy laying in a dog bed. While the puppy was small, we all loved him! I would put him on my lap and talk to him. But then as he got bigger & wasn't as cute & cuddly, and needed more walking, no one felt like being bothered. My mother often got stuck with the task. Charlie kept digging holes under the fence and leaving, but he'd always come back after a few hours. Until one day, when he didn't. The next morning, my mother told us that she saw his body laying in the street. Charlie had been hit by a car. We all were sad, but my brother took it the hardest. This was over 16 years ago, so he was about 10 at the time. He cried for days over that dog.

We did learn that the family wasn't ready for another one, though.

Sorry babes...animals nuh do ie fe mi. I told you that I ran from a bunny rabbit. I don't like the smells...the hair everywhere...how they lick themselves and then want to come and lick you...how they use your floor as their toilet paper...don't even get me started. Now, I won't mistreat them...but a home with me they will never find.

I agree I 'm not a animal lover either. I feel bad I rarely go to the zoo to take the kids and when we do go I'm always rushing them.

I did fall for my brother's dog though. Loved her to pieces but that was as close as I'll come I think.

lol @ Dillon & the fish

When Kimmy comes back, I am starting a Yardies at home and a farrin' who love animals thread. The rest of you fools are on your own!!!!

 See. I also don't understand people who love them that much. Just don't get it.

It's something about the inbred unconditional love they give that gets me every time. I've seen some of my dogs and cats do some really amazing things in my lifetime. It's not something you can put into words though. At least, I can't. When you know, you know.

girl..my mom say she saw two dogs tryna cross street.. one must have got hit or something :crying: she see this one go BACK in street, in traffic and try fi drag di one to othr side..

i don't like them but animals are amazing and loving

I saw a female dog, not it's mother, bury a puppy who had died in JA in Andre's yard. It was the most amazing thing I have ever seen. She dug out a hole, drug the puppy over to it, and then covered him in dirt. Took her a long time. I cried watching.

We had a yard sale when my daughter was about 1 or so, just walking. I had this blanket out in the yard for her to play on. My daughter kept trying to stand and escape her blanket. My german shepherd mutt walked in circles around my daughter all day, gently trapping her on that blanket and not letting a single person near her. She wasn't agressive, just protective. Again, amazing site.

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip

We thought a nice guinnea pig would be fun. Had to get 2 to keep each other company. Got them both out of female side at pet store. Guarenteed they were females. 6 months and like 20 guinnea pigs later, we figured out you really can't tell what sex those suckers are even if you turn them upside down and try to look.....and seperating them doesn't work all that well if you don't know what sex they are. The final straw was the day I walked down the hall to bathroom and they all thought it was feeding time......4 a.m.......Who knew little creatures could make so much noise!

Ooh JG yes I can share all my stories of all my kitties and animals from my childhood! I can even make videos of the kitties with Jermaine Jackson soundtracks and post them from You Tube. Perfect!!!!!!!

LOL Gotta love the animal daggerin stories!
