SS card arrived today .. in the card, it says .. Valid for work only with DHS authorization.. what is this all about?

Married 2007, Husband became USC 06/2009,

I became a LPR 11/2009

IR-2 for USC's stepdaughter (my daughter) TIMELINE :

you can't work w/out an ead card or gc. when you get your gc you will want to notify ssa to get that removed

K1: 01/15/2009 (mailed I-129F) - 06/23/2009 (visa received)

AOS: 08/08/2009 (mailed I-485, I-765, & I-131) - 10/29/2009 (received GC)

It tells your employer that there must be a valid work authorization in addition to the SSN in order for you to work legally.

I delivered a baby girl on sept 200th and everything went off well. I couldn't update my status for a while. I have received my EAD and I-131 advance parole doc last week. Yesterday I have received AOS interview letter for GC on November 18th morning 7.30 am.

Congratulations for who those have gotten their EAD and received Interview letter. Good luck for interview.

YAY, just got my 10 year Green Card in the mail! Thank God i dont have to renew in 2 years!

May 2002 -- Met online.

07/16/02 -- Decided to start a long distance relationship.

01/09/04 -- Finally met him in person when he visited me in London, UK.

June & Dec 04 -- Visited him in Los Angeles, CA.

07/10/05 -- Arrived in the U.S. on F-1 Visa.

07/18/05 -- Got married in Las Vegas, NV.

01/08/09 -- Visited London, UK with him.

06/12/09 -- My graduation, F-1 Visa expires in 60 days.

07/30/09 -- Sent off I-485 and I-130 TODAY!

08/02/09 -- Delivered to Chicago Lockbox @ 9.35pm.

08/05/09 -- Checks cashed.

I have a question in our case my husband and I were married before he got his citizenship. How that works? But we have married for an year now. So I guess I might get 10 yr green card becas his marital status was married when he got his citizenship.

Actually we were married on the year 2004 but we were legally seperated for an year and again got remarried on 2008. Now we have 5 week old baby daughter at home. We will take her to the interview.

Let us see how things goes on 10yr GC.

I think for 10 years GC your marriage have to be more than 2 years.
