Today I ve received a transfer notice from USCIS that my case has been transferred to California Service Center. Could anybody please so kind to let me know what is that meant because I am currently leaving in New Jersey. Let say later I have appointment for interview so we will have to fly to California for interview? that is too far for us....

As far as I know, if somebody's case was transferred to CSC, you will not have an Interview. You'll just going to wait for the AOS approval and Greencard at home :yes:

Try to browse or search for those adjusting their status from K1 :)

why do some cases dont need an interview? what makes them so special?

what is the meaning of touch? i read in your timeline and so many other VJ's 130 touch or I-485 touch. what is that and how you know that it is touch?

when you register to the USCIS case status page it tells you when you had an update (that is called a touch). you have a specific case number per application ie... I have 4 one for the I130 one for the I845, one for the EAD and one for the AP. when you register on the website it asks you your receipt number and it's going to be like MSC30002555... blah blah blah they have a table where it tells you your last update that is your last touch

this can help you in case i was a little confusing

It's "maybe" because their cases have enough proof.

hi all,

i received an email from USCIS that my AP and EAD are approved and they sent it last september 24. i wonder if i could start looking for a job now? :). and also, with the approval notice does it comes with the AP and EAD card or just notice and for that i need to wait for the AP and EAD card to be delivered. Thanks in advance for the replies. :)

Sept. 24, 2009 - Received E-mail approval notice for EAD and AP

Just added our info. It would be cool if VJ expanded their timeline section to include some of the fields in this spreadsheet.

I meant Sept. 29, they received the RFE .. I've checked my email and USCIS says that

Current Status : Response to request for evidence received, and case processing has resumed :thumbs:

I received my travel permit in the mail on Saturday and today I got the work permit. I didn't know they take the picture from the biometrics appointment...I thought they take one of the pictures that you send in with your application. Should have brushed my hair one more time before taking that picture...LOL! I am happy to have both now and hope for the interview appointment soon!

I kind of suspected that the EAD photo is the one from the biometrics appt after my wife told me that they took her photo at her appt. I wonder why they require you send passport-sized photos with your app? I assume they use the biometrics photos for the GC as well. Can anyone verify this?

Also, I'm noticing a strange trend. EAD approvals before AP approvals. This isn't the case for everyone, but I'm surprised it happens at all since I expected the AP to be approved before the EAD.

Not with everybody. I got my AP before EAD.
