I received an appointment letter this weekend for October 20th....It seems to be pretty speedy thus far.

Here's hoping all is continued in a smooth manner.

08/17/09 - NOA1 for I-485, I-130, I-765, I-131 (received 08/21/09)

09/25/09 - AP Approval notice sent

Hey,

Some nice VJ memebr told me that the biometrics are only for forms EAD and I485, thats good since I was strating to get worried about why I didn´t get bio for AP and I131.

Finally sent the RFE, hope no more RFEs. It reached there 09/21/2009 but no update on the status yet. How long should i be waiting for touch/status update. The case is still in RFE stage.

hey Inna and Mister Jeeves, you guys are on f-1 visas right?

do you think their going to ask you about your intent to return to ur home country after you studies?

how do you guys feel about that? are you worried at all, about how to prove ur intent? i'm really worried about it, and the fact that i knew my husband before i came here on an f-1 visa and went on vacation for 2 weeks, came back on my f-1 visa but this was wayyyyy before we knew about AOS nearly 2 years already, what do you guys think?

May 2002 -- Met online.

07/16/02 -- Decided to start a long distance relationship.

01/09/04 -- Finally met him in person when he visited me in London, UK.

June & Dec 04 -- Visited him in Los Angeles, CA.

07/10/05 -- Arrived in the U.S. on F-1 Visa.

07/18/05 -- Got married in Las Vegas, NV.

01/08/09 -- Visited London, UK with him.

06/12/09 -- My graduation, F-1 Visa expires in 60 days.

07/30/09 -- Sent off I-485 and I-130 TODAY!

I met my (future) wife whilst on a study abroad program under J-1 status in 2005. I did the year study, made some great friends and colleagues at the university and vowed to come back for graduate studies. I went home and completed my bachelors and masters degree and then applied to the Ph.D program in the US. My wife (g/f at the time) spent a long time in London with myself on an exchange program too. We've been together since 2005, but I entered the US as F-1, not engaged, in 2009. We decided in June to get married and it so thusly happened.

Clearly, the fact alone that there was a long busy period of hard work before the notion of marriage was even brought about by virtue of engagement ought to justify one's noble intentions. Given that (particular to my situation) our relationship is very much bonafide, it would've been far easier to have just got engaged and filed K-1 rather than pursue a Ph.D for the sake of immigration convenience.

There was no fixed plans whatsoever to reside here rather than the UK even if we decided to get married back in 2008 when I decided I wanted to do my Ph.D at the university in which we met. My continuation with the Ph.D is withstanding and I cannot be anymore explicit than that.

I intend to be true and honest and that's all I am capable of doing. I think it ought to be sufficient.
