facts .... ok ... why is the administration not doing everything humanly possible to get them in front of the voters?

Its in the bill, should you care to discuss particulars.

In terms of 'polls' it is amazing how the numbers change from disfavor to favor once people are informed of the details in the actual legislation. Just sayin'.

which bill?

which item on the 1000+ pages?

the one where the funding requested will not be exceeded and will be enough without the need for the gov't to go-back-to-the-well?

You tell me. I'm not the one bent out of shape over nonexistent language here.

exactly !!!

now I think you understand.

Like I said... the guvmint ain't traaaaaayn' to take over the healthcare with this bit of legislashionn.

cost containment ain't exactly a gov't speciality ...

And that's another topic altogether. Perhaps better legislation to have better accountability? Things change. ;)

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

No, it isn't. But government run health care is a heck of a of less expensive than the sad mistake of a private insurance dominated system that plagues this nation. I said it many times before and I'll say it again: Government run health care in any developed country anywhere in the world - including right here in the US - is by far more efficient than any private insurance based system. Period.

You might be able to say that about other countries but is is not true here. The government here is only good at wasting money. It would only get worse if the government got involved. Tell you what, show me any federal program that is working. There isn't any. There is no reason to believe that this would be any different.

That's Libertarian ideology, not Conservative, Gary. It's too bad you don't understand there's a difference.

Exactly. Thinking that a huge bloated bureaucracy as being efficient is ludicrous to say the least. And one that is run basically centrally in Washington is laughable. Can anyone imagine that the politicians and bureaucrats will all be on the same sheet of music? The so called tweaking the system year end and year out? Also like usual the yearly "new" issues that "has" to be addressed? The same government that has never had a program that made its initial cost estimates but usually is way over budget. Of course now that this new huge bloated bureaucracy we will hear all about how we can't just get rid of it all and throw more money at it thinking it will be fixed. Good money after bad. Sound familiar?

I take 3% overhead vs. 30% any day of the week and twice on Sundays. You keep making this claim that the government here is less efficient and yet, the least efficient system is that which the private insurance industry dominates. So, please, when the latter provides better coverage at comparable cost, I'll listen. Until then, I ain't buying this argument.

Right. Which is why I'd like to see that bloated bureaucracy eliminated. Problem is that it's not the government that created a bloated bureaucracy - it's the private insurance industry. It's not hard to understand that a single payer requires less bureaucrats than a system with 1300 some odd payers each having their own rules and requirements.

that should be part of this legislation. think we can get it drafted and put in?

It can be written up later I presume. Of the many things people smell coming our way, I think that wouldn't be too hard to detect.

By law the White House must retain all emails sent to them. If someone forwards an email without stripping the header then the name will be kept. If they don't they are breaking the law. So when Gibbs said they are not collecting names that is a lie. Now whether they are doing anything with the names is another question. I have no opinion as to whether that is happening. The misinformation is coming from both sides here. Hyteria seems to be the rule of the day all around.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

Senate Floor Speech on Public Debt

And I guess that since half of all paperwork that providers have to fill out is due to the bloated bureaucracy of medicare or medicaid is not figured in. Guess the many people that have to fill in those forms or the quality control people or the extra tests or.............. is not factored in of course since it is the providers that have to hire these people just to handle the requirements that this so called efficient government agency is making them do.

Naive to say the least. Sheep and koolaid drinkers unite.

What paperwork, precisely?
