Citizenship application questions - proofs and oath ceremony

Hi All,

I will apply through marriage and permanent residence.

I have a few questions I could not find the answer to on this great Website.

1- Do I need to send again tons of proofs I have been living happily with my husband or is it enough to send just tax returns for 3 years? :reading:

2- Is there a way to know where the Oath Ceremonies take place (Southern Ca) - also can my husband/family members/friends come to the Ceremony and see me become an American Citizen? :star:

04/29/09 - NOA1 (received by mail on 05/12/09)

07/01/09 - Biometrics appointment (received by mail on 06/20/09)

07/25/09 - Approved - card in preparation (received by mail on 07/31/09)

07/29/09 - Card produced (received by mail on 08/05/09)

Taking a break from USCIS before applying for citizenship...

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

You do have to document that you are living together in marital union. See the checklist in the back of the Guide to Naturalization for specifcs.

You'll find out where your ceremony is to be held once you receive your Oath notice, assuming you are recommended for approval after the interview. The impression that I get is that Oath ceremonies are held in different locations, depending on the date of the ceremony. Without having your Oath date, I think it would be impossible for you to know for sure where your specific cermony would be held.

Oath ceremonies are public events, so yes, family and friends may attend. Some ceremonies (my wife's for instance) do not allow cameras though.

08/26/2009 Naturalization Certificate and Name Change Petition arrive back from State Department

Sucks but you have to prove you guys have a bonafide marriage and are living together "ONE MORE TIME".

IOs can be tough if there's doubt that isn't so as you would have to wait 5 years instead of 3.

K1 denied, K3/K4, CR-1/CR-2, AOS, ROC, Adoption, US citizenship and dual citizenship

!! ALL PAU!
