We were getting worried but eventually our notice came of the interview, and then the biometrics. Then duplicate notices.

They are both next week with the biometrics one day after the interview. We have 30 pages of stuff to turn over not to mention a blog with hundreds of photos. Most of them time-stamped. We kept a kind of diary of what we've been up to.

Good luck to everyone. I think walking in there eight months pregnant is kind of a lock on this deal.

Well. . . . .

He's APPROVED!!!

Our interview was for 11am, and we arrived at 10:20 (b/c we were expecting construction traffic & freeway closures - there was NONE!). Anyway, we got there and checked in. We had a bag of photo albums (3 - wedding, honeymoon, and extras for USCIS to keep) and a bag with our binder along with wedding guestbook, some cards, and some other items. We finally get called at 11:20ish, and go back with William Van Erp (our Adjudication Officer).

He asked to see Duncan's passport (took out the K1 and put in our 1.5" thick file folder) and an original of our marriage certificate. I out my passport out there, too, but he never touched it, other than to push it aside. He asked the "standard" questions... terrorist, communist, etc. all to which Duncan answered "No."

With that, he said, "Mr. Harmsworth, you are now a Permanent Resident of the US. Congratulations." He had previously asked Duncan if Duncan was planning on travelling outside the US, and Duncan said no to that at the beginning. Just as we were about to leave, and he was about to give Duncan back his passport, I asked about the 551 stamp (thanks, Carla for that!!!). Mr. Van Erp said they no longer issue the stamp and shared that was why he asked if Duncan was planning on travelling. I mentioned Duncan's great-aunt, and William said well, I can go ahead and stamp your passport, if you think you might need it. I kind of insisted on it, just in case. And, voila'! Duncan got the stamp! :)

So, the interview took a whole 8-10 minutes... AT MOST! Duncan wore a dress shirt and tie (no jacket) and I wore a skirt and sweater. Not many others were dressed up, so, it was nice to see that we were.

THEN... we went and got his driver's license, I got my name changed so I got my driver's license too, and finally went to the SSA office and got his "Work Authorization" removed.

So, it is steak, mashed potatoes, garlic bread, and our favorite wine for dinner. YEA!!!! We're done until 2011!!!!!:dance::dance:

Green card production ordered email notification today while we were out shopping. She had just gotten fingerprints taken for her new job today, so she's very excited about all the good news. Of course it's a joy for me as well.

Congrats to Kat, Duncan and everyone else who's gotten good news. And all the best to everyone.
