Hi everyone,

We have sent our AOS (I-485 +I-765) on 08/29/2009 by USPS and USPS said that the package already come to Chicago lockbox. Could anyone please so kind to let me know when they will send NOA for us because it has been one week we not yet received that if they get the pacakage or not, i am a little bit worried...

thank you so much for your kindness,

Huong

Us too! We mailed ours on 8/31 and got confirmation from usps that they delivered it on 09/01. I might be a bit anxious but they still haven't cashed our check yet. So am I just a bit too anxious?!?! I am assuming it might be due to Labor Day so a bit of a delay there???

Thanks!!!

Hi, I guess you´re right, its delayed because of the long labor day weekend...we filed our AOS on 08/31 and jut got the confirmation card from USPS back that our case was delivered on 09/02....they didn´t cash the check either....so I think I will wait another 7 or 10 days before I start getting worried.....

Hi,

Just wanted you guys to know that they have cashed my check today. Then in the mail, there was the NOAs. Therefore, for those of you that filed around my time, which is at the end of Aug, you should be getting your NOAs soon, if not already!!!

We filed for AOS+AP+EAD and it was received on August 22nd. We were just notified of approval of the temp EAD and AP and that it will be mailed to us, AND that the I-485 was transferred to the CSC as well (we should be the Vermont Service Center normally I believe). I have heard this is due to case backlogs building and it shouldnt have any impact except for slight delays perhaps.

We have NOT received a Biometrics appointment letter yet - is this a problem and has it been too long or is that what comes in this "Approval" information for the I-765 and I-131?

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Guys,

I received an email saying that my case referring to I-485 was transferred to CSC? Is this good? California is far from where we are, its gonna be hard for us at the time of our interview.

Dalyn

Don't worry Dalyn, that seem to be the case with most of us (living far away from California, I mean). The transfer seem to indicate that you might not have an interview but there are known cases on VJ where the paperwork was sent (after the transfer) to a local office just for an interview. But I wouldn't worry, these cases are few and far in between. So try to relax... :-)

It is very unusual to get I-765 approved without biometrics. Are you sure it was approved?

Thanks for the quick reply - really appreciate it. We have done no biometrics anything, and not received any letter, but this is the case update we have received:

It is unusual but it appears that you are correct - they've approved your EAD without biometrics. They might postpone ordering of your card until your biometrics are done but for all purposes you are done with EAD and AP. CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Here is my experience with the ASC for my bio. Mine was originally scheduled on the 23rd, but I decided to try my luck via a walk-in this afternoon. It

was raining hard today in NYC and the wind was blowing like crazy. So I got to the office one hour before its closing time. I expected to see a lot more people than just 3. I mean, 1, 2, 3, and I was the third one. They took me, but they had a problem with my new last name since it's different from my ONLY photo id-the passport. I explained to them why I made the change (because I got married! my new last name is hyphenated.) The lady who was about to take my fingerprinting decided to send me to her manager. So there I went, and the manager was very understanding and gave me a pass on that. Anyway, all they would like to see other than the appointment notice and the photo id is the marriage certificate, which is not listed on the notice as one of the documents to bring to the bio appointment. Even with all that hassle, I managed to get everything done and be out of the office in 20 minutes. BUT, the picture they took of me was HORRIBLE!!!

So, if anyone who has changed your last name after getting married wants to try a walk-in with any of the Application Services Center, make sure to also bring your marriage certificate! Good luck, everyone!!!
