One more step closer.... I see her interview date now posted as Sep. 28

...but not our biggest hurdle Her next appearance in front of the Russian Adoption Board is Aug 20.

Her little one must have completed formal adoption prior to the embassy giving him a visa. This is our biggest hurdle.

Please everyone say a prayer that the Board grants her the adoption; they grilled her left and right during that last meeting in July.

Good luck to both of you. I am not familiar with the adoption board. How difficult a process is it? I will say a prayer for you.

We also just got our interview date for the 21st of September.

I am surprised to see that the schedule of your interview took so long. It seems that your file took a long time at NVC. Email the consulate to make sure that you have all you need (it helps your SO interview). They also told me that I can send anything else directly to them via email. I will do so 15 days before her interview (especially financial documents. That way they will not go through the normal mail where somebody can misappropriate them and use them against you).

Good luck to both of you. I am not familiar with the adoption board. How difficult a process is it? I will say a prayer for you.

We also just got our interview date for the 21st of September.

The adoption process has been quite exhaustive and daunting. Both of these poor folks have been poked and prodded by so many doctors, she has millions of documents, many many trips to various government offices, many more trips to this hospital and that hospital. She started the process back before last October before we even met. In July her lawyer stated that everything is in order and they could schedule the review by the board. Late in July she had her appointment but unfortunately one lady was on vacation so no approval could be given. She is rescheduled in late August. During the last meeting the rest of the board grilled her with questions like, Why are you doing this? You are a single woman, why no husband? Why do you want to give up the monthly stipend you receive for being the appointed trustee of the child?

Of course she can not mention any whisper of our plans together; they would categorically deny her if they knew that she planned to move to the US.

The people at the office that is processing her paperwork and who do this all the time tell her not to worry, that she has all that is required.

However, as yoiu know, dealing with Russian authority can be quite humbling. She is prepared to write a letter to the President if they deny her.

All of our plans hinge on this one decision.

I am a prayin type of guy so I'll go ahead and add that in there for you.

And now I'm heading back through the old posts to see if I owe you any ammo!

No we were both off. I was the 10th and you were the 15th. So we'll just have to bring both our offerings to the range and send some to the target.
