Only one more week, Shar. My hubby's boss is having a really hard time this Ramadan. I think it's hard for him because his wife is exempt from fasting this year since she is breastfeeding.

and what the hell, guys, don't hate me because I live with hubby!

Well I'm happy so :P At least all of you get to drink and eat! I feel like I am dying of thirst right now

And yes, this too has been a week from hell for me! In addition to fasting, I'm PMSing (watch out now!), had a STUPID fight with hubby over (of all things) the H1N1 virus or as Ahmed still refers to it...the pig flu and until yesterday the NVC couldn't even tell me they were working on my case.

So today, finally, I am happy and won't let anyone rain on my parade, so poo on you ;)

I do pray everyone else get's a quick case complete soon! God-willing it'll be next week for most of ya!

Sis, you are exempt from slapping!!!!! yes this has been a week of hell. Enjoy yur weekend and breath a bit, and for hubby, give him some Midol. LOL Love ya Sis!!!

Thanks, sis! Although can I join the Smackers R us club? Ahmed needs a good smackin'!! His been a bad boy....a real bad boy <--hmmm, that sounds naughty and dirty, me likes! Opps, did I say that outloud  ?? Oh boy....I'm fasting! Sheesh, thanks alot guys :P

Yes your in te club!!! Naughty, naughty, I raised you better then that Little Girl, LOL

7 more hours Honey, and fast will be over for the day. Tell ya what, get a pint of chocolate ice cream this evening and ring me on phone, we will gossip, and laugh till we throw up, LOL Talk to you later!!

Truly happy!!!

Dear, sweet, Mal...

No one is mad or chagrined at you because you live with your hubby -- you understand the frustration that comes from not being able to and you're sympathetic and kind. It's not about being maligned because one has something that the other doesn't, silly girl!

Throwing up ice cream???? What a freaking waste!

Thanks SDW. :) I try not to point it out too much, but this is our second go-around with immigration (I immigrated to Canada back in 2006). I can't believe I'm doing it again.

Shar, this is going to sound really retarded and close-minded, but what sorts of foods do you eat after dark during Ramadan?

So silly, but honestly, I was never exposed to many Muslims growing up and only got to know some since I moved to Vancouver.

Hmm...well after eating three days of leftover I was HAPPY to eat pepperoni (turkey) pizza last night and the a piece of key lime pie for dessert! NOM!

Weekends we do BIG meals. Last weekend me and my cousin in law made sambousas (cheese, spinich and beef ones). Curry Chicken, Beef cabbage spinich with seaning & couscousi. Hmm, also this super yummy curry chickpea dish with chapati. Salad (usually just tomato and cucumber). My brother and my cousins BBQed as well, so we had shish kabobs. For dessert I made basbousa and creme caramel (flan). OMG....my mouth is watering now!

I don't know about other Muslims, but I don't always good traditional foods. Usually this is the only time (Ramadan) that I go ALL out cooking. About once or twice a week I cook Arabic food and usually the rest is the same as everyone else
