Beth, are you seriously going to call NVC at 2am? I think you've gone mad.

My mother in law called USCIS today to ask if they've sent it off or not...I've still yet to hear back from her. Hopefully they gave her some information. I let her call since she's very aggressive and always demands answers!

Personally I've been only using the automated system. I spoke with an operator twice. Hopefully they'll have it by next Tuesday...that'll be 4 weeks..

I just used the automated system. I have a lawyer. She said it can take a few weeks. It's only been 2 weeks, but when you are waiting for something like this, it seems like forever!

Yeah. Me too so far. I was wondering if anyone who was NOT in the automated system yet, spoke with an operator and found out their case number was already assigned.

As for the I-864ez, can I use that even if I have a child? I didn't know.

The question is a bit vague. do you mean you have a child at home, or you are Also doing I -864 for you child, Meaning you also petioned for your child.

I suppose I should have been a bit more clear. I have a child, my dependent, at home with me. If you have a dependent can you still use the I-864ez or do I need to use the I-864 ?

My other question is what do you think is taking them so long to send the petitions from USCIS to NVC lately?? This is probably a stupid questions, but do they collect a bunch of "approved" case and then send them all in to the NVC?

Oh you thought I was done....nope, I got more questions.....hubby had something translated and then signed off on by the U.S. embassy in Cairo as "certified." We need his Police Clearance from Cairo translated to English as well. Now, I thought he could just have it say it's certified by the translator as being competent to translate, although after reading what, I think, Lgg said then sounds like he should still have it "certified" by the U.S. Embassy in Cairo. True??

Thanks all!

We are in with August NVC petitioners, too! I-130 approved August 3 for us. Just got the hard copy today. Let's all just help one another so we can all fly through the NVC process.

It takes 8 months for us to see each other back again since we started our visa process, and now here we are reunited back again and happy together.

yes you miss something

and you noticed it since, I saw

for his applicant documents he needs MILITARY RECORDS or exemption record

no divorce on his side , so divorce decree I guess

Also in my applicant documentation I put passport copies (mine and my husband) only the biographic pages

in my package maybe I said it before I forgot the photocopies (they ask for photocopies in addition to original)

see the department of state site

but I have never seen a RFE for it and a LOT of people forget it

Put your nvc case on right of each page (once you have it)

add cover letter with explanations about specifics and index

I'm "kinda" doing NVC in August; still waiting for my #... and then, I think we'll file electronically directly with the consulate to save on cost and delays - I still have to read about the "hows", but I know it's feasible in Montreal.

Hi La Souris, Ive started by printing the short cuts for NVC, I have my tax returns in order, the employment letter, the I-864EZ form filled out, I have the DS0230 and the DS-3032 already signed by hubby, all our docs for NVC ready, I just need his 4 passport photos, also have the police certs, and his birth cert all translated. So we just need out NVC number and we are off full steam again, UGH!!!

note

Translation only needed if document not French or not English

The french police cert is okay , its in French, the Algerian one is translated to English, and his birth cert 'Algerian" was written in French, but i had that one translated too for just in case.

Our marriage license is english, so we are all good there. I understand that Police cert. are good for within 1 year of the interview, so we are good there, i got that from the U.S. Embassy Paris website etc.

Did I miss anything?

Approved July 31. We will be with the August NVC Gang. Congrats Paris on your approval. I know I'm not extremely talkative and don't post much but I've been quietly pulling for you over the last few months. God is faithful. He didn't bring us this far to let us die in the desert!

Hooray for August NVC! I got NOA2 on July 31st and called NVC on August 5th. I didn't bother with the AVR, just went straight to the operator. The girl said that they had received my case, it was in processing, and to call back on friday to see if its complete and forwarded to the embassy in Manila. So i'll give them a call today to see what the status is.
