Got another friggin' false RFE as of Sept. 8th. Called this morning and they informed me that I will probably get ANOTHER false email checklist requesting the ds-230 packet. Again they said to disregard. I am so tired of this. They have had the IV packet since August 28, I really wanna scream :girlwerewolf2xn:

Did you ever stare at this stuff for so long that it no longer makes sense?

I'm really over-thinking this thing.

When I send the documents for the DS-230, they're just looking for the applicant's stuff, not the petitioner's, right? Or am I sending birth certs & divorce decrees for both the beneficiary and the petitioner?

got REF messages on both spouse and kid, but the kid's one is a bit different in wording, the operator said that I have a REF on kid's I-864. I only submitted a copy of the spouse's I-864 for kid without supporting document because the confusions from the form instructions and for the sake of trying to reduce NVC's workload. I wished I sent a complete set of it! Anyway, it would be fine.

a quick question if someone can guide me: should I wait NVC's checklist or I can go ahead resend them a complete I-864 for my kid?

BTW, I'm using NVC's electronic processing, if anyone out there needs info, please ask.

It's only for the applicant.

If you are USC then you should submit form I-864W for immigrating children under 18 years old. It's pretty simple single-page form and no supporting documents needed. You can sign the form yourself if your kid is under 14, but put the name of your kid at the bottom above the signature, not your own name.

Master:

my kid is my step-daughter, and I'm USC. I looked the form I864W, it doesn't seem to apply to my situation. you are applying your son too, what form did you use? I-864w? To be qualify for I-864W, one of parents must be a USC, does the step-parent count? what if I just fill out another I-864 with all supporting documents, will it work? thanks!

Birth cert is for beneficiary only unless you are sponsoring your parents, not sure about divorce decree. You can always call NVC and ask operator about the documents needed, that's what I did, don't just sit ans stare ;)

Yes, I sent I-864W for my son. I'm not sure about your situation, looks like I-864W won't apply to your step-daughter. I suggest you call NVC and ask the operator how to proceed.

Thanks, Paris. I have Temporal Lobe Epilepsy & had a bad night with seizures. Today, I can't think straight as a result, so filling in these forms is like swimming against the tide.

I keep getting the grumpy operators. I just had a woman repeat "up to four weeks" three times to me. :\

Oooh, I think I got that one too last week.
