We got approved (for both the I130 & the I129f) back in February, but we were doing the K3 visa. He had his interview for the I129f in April and got put in Ap and since the interview we haven't heard anything so now I am beginning the process at NVC for the IR 1 instead. I just began getting everything together and paid the $70.00 fee in August. Hope there are some people out there with some guidance regarding this process. I have posted a few things, but for some reason nobody seems to be applying to my questions soooooo here I am looking for some sort of support. Thanks

Have you been calling on his AP?

I too applied for a K3 but got caught up in AP at the NVC, so I followed the CR-1 instead, and NVC just got final packet this am. Keep going with the CR1, next up for you sending the AOA packet, once your Ds-3032 is accetped , NV will send you the IV bill, pay it, once its accepted, send in the IV packet, then wait for NVC to complete your case. Have you checked out the short cuts for NVC? if not, its a must do!

We are all here and happy to help you.

Beth

Yes, I've downloaded the short cuts off vj and have been following them so far. It can be a bit confusing though. I have paid the 70.00 fee and emailed the ds-3032 last week and am waiting for nvc to accept it. I'm not really sure if they will accept it via email, but I thought I would give it a shot. I scanned and emailed all the documents my husband needs to have him fill out and sign, which he completed yesterday and got another police certificate. He has a friend who is visiting from Indiana and will be bringing the paperwork back with him to send to me once he returns in a few days. Does anyone know if I can get the original documents as a certified copy here in the U.S so I don't have to send the original marriage certificate and birth certificate. It kind of scares me sending that to them in case it gets lost, since that is our only copy. How long is the wait for an interview does anyone know?? Just looking for an average wait time nothing specific. Yes, I have been calling the DOS on a weekly basis to check the status of the Ap, but of course I get no new information and nobody ever answers the darn phone at the embassy in Nigeria. I've sent about 25 email's to the embassy and they've answered maybe two......awwww well such is life I guess. Thanks for answering me Beth.

You cant get them certified here in USA, you must go back to the office who issued your marriage cert and birth certs and request Certified copies "Im presumming you married overseas and also referring to his birth cert"

Yes bad idea to send a orignal of those mentioned.

Beth

Its Nigeria though and I heard from others that they don't accept certified copies and it cost 50.00 per copy in Nigeria because as many know its all about MONEY in that darn country!!

Thank you Beth, You have been a real freind through out this time. its not over yet, so please pray for me

I know with this speed, you may hear something by next week, and possibly an OCtober interview for you as well, If Paris is not overcrowded. I dont think it is. lets hope

so the tune NVC operators harp of second week of a month is not necessarily one should go by. That may be a standard practice, however not even the Operators know if that goes in a cycle , from the second week of one month to another second week of another month and so on for the whole year, Or if it starts at the Second week of a particular month and stops at the end of it. I think it all depends on the Embassy and the load at Embassy. I dont think there are many Nepalese Men or women trying to bring their spouses and parents over, hence the interview is fast. These are my own musing, nothing concrete and proven :)

Jeez, if I'd have known a couple of days ago that I could have given my email address by phone, I'd have done it as soon as we got the case number. Now I'm just mad at myself for wasting 4 days...

I plan to update the LingChe shortcuts during some time off coming up. (if I can gain access) This is the most important update.

hi congrats on the completion. That's awesome. Hoping soon for us too. would u know if mnl embassy can change the scheduled interview on an earlier date? I was hoping an october interview myself for my husband if we get it done in the next 2 wks. Im vacationing end sept to mid oct and would prefer to be there for his interview. Let me know if u find anything out. Tnx.

I am WAY freaking out now! I called the NVC's AVR system today and it said that the I was "missing" information. Yesterday the AVR said it had "received documents and that they will review and inform of the outcome." So, I spoke to an operator today and he said they were waiting for the ds-230 package from my husband, I told him that it was send that in last Thursday. He said he saw "something" had come in on Monday. He said not to worry that it was just the ds-230 package that was missing and that I should ignore the message on the AVR since they are probably still reviewing the ds-230 that we sent in. Probably?? Argh....is this a false RFE?? I thought we would have case complete by the end of the week or early next week  Someone please tell me what this means????
