Guys , one quick question...D:,

should I name my husband the agent even though he's overseas or should I name myself the agent? I heard whoever is named the agent has to pay the bills. I guess my mother in law can always forward him the physical mail. But an opinion would be great. ^ ^

It would be much faster if you are the agent. I don't think it matters who pays the bills as long as they are paid! The online payment web-site gives some choices like Beneficiary, Petitioner, Attorney to identify whos paying.

Question though, do I e-mail the DS-3032 first? And then does my husband pay the $70 AOS fee? Or does he pay first? LOL

Any order you like. These are independent steps. Note that NVC won't move forward with the DS-230 bill and form until they receive the DS-3032, so it might be a good idea to get that going first.

I already sent it out...as my husband as the agent and I just noticed that they messed up my postal code. They put a 7 where a T should be. I'll have to call them tomorrow and get to correct it. But my mother in law can just open any physical mail we get. Just waiting on my husband to pay the AOS fee. I'm going to end up mailing him the cover letter. I swear I'm his personal secretary.

I am stuck at NVC. Never thought this would happen to me. The AVR recording does not change. You think I am in AP? Or, may be this is just a bad time to get a RFE and that just slowed the process down.

I know i should not be whining the least :crying: , because there are many who waited 4 weeks just to get NVC case number, stilll...........its hard to understand. Operators tell me "... wait 2-4 weeks for the IV package review, and ignore the RFE email sent on the 8th..."

Yet, I am at complete loss. :crying::unsure::cry::ot::diablo:

Hey all....I just spoke to one of the NVC operators that said once the DS-3032 is issued, that my husband will either need to mail or email it (she said if emailing, the form will need to be scanned and then sent via email).

I guess I was under the impression that he could just send an email (using the VJ ds-3032 email template) without a scanned attachment. Guess I was wrong?

Also is it better to send via mail or email? Which is quicker? How long does it take to accept it?

Will they send any of this information via regular mail or all email now since they have our email address?

Thanks all.

Do both, email it and send original in mail to the NVC. Give it a couple of days for them to accept it after emailing.

Do you have a copy of the DS-3032 signed by him yet????

yes, I have that....but I we can't use the template for the DS-3032 instuctions? We have to actually scan it and send it? My scanner is broke :(

My wife emailed the text template too, but I am backing it up by sending a hardcopy of DS-3032 signed.

I think its time to update the wiki pages! They are horribly out of date. Its not clear if the scanned DS-3032 should be emailed as an attachment or if the text template is good enough.

Other updates needed:

  1. Take out the part about asking an operator for Invoice number
  2. Stress how important it is to call an operator and give emails the day your case goes online
