Hello guys, good day to all. My scheduled citizenship interview last July 15, was partly a SUCCESS.... Until the IO informed me that i passed the US History and English Interview, she added that a decision cannot be made by that time because, they need more current evidence for marriage based petitions. Too bad i just relied with the old documents that i had submitted, i brought some evidence but not that current. IO asked me to submit the remaining documents on the checklist she gave me which i did after 2 days. I haven't heard anything from the IO, how long will it take before i can be scheduled for oath taking. I am getting worried now. Should i get receive a letter from them? Thanks

Sorry to hear about your experience (F) . My guess is that yes you'll get an Oath Letter in the mail, but that it may take up to 30 days to get one, I would think it will depend on the IO's workload. I would at least wait a week or two before enquiring... sorry... Other people with more knowledge than I, will comment further I'm sure..

Can you share more about the IO wanted to see? Current utility bill with both names, or bank statements or...?

Wife's friend was 15 months with the Chicago office which led us to say, USCIS, you want evidence, we have evidence. No telling how long your wait will be, you would think a week at the most. It all depends on your IO.

Hello Thanks for replying, they just want to see that we are currently living together. She asked for auto insurance, medical insurance, copy of my old passport(which i forgot to bring), copy of our 2008 tax return to see if we file together.

Hello guys, good day to all. My scheduled citizenship interview last July 10th was partly good.

*She asked me why we moved 3 times.

- I said when I moved here with my wife she use to live in a one bedroom in a basement with bathroom and kitchen everything in same place lol, and after that we moved with her brother, he lives in the countryside, its lovely place but my wife she didn’t want to stay there cause it was far from her job, after that we moved to a 2 bedroom apartment its nice, but with my new job we thought about buying her cousin house its lovely house with 3 bed room. We moved there I get laid off work. So now we are renting his house and soon we are thinking of to buying it because I found a good job hop will last for long.

*She asked me do I have any paper shows that we live together.

- I showed her the lease that we have with my wife cousin. She said anyone can do this paper. I said that’s all what I have but you are more than welcome to visit if you like 2.

*She asked also, why we didn’t file for taxes last year together.

-I told her that my wife has a business with her friend and she told me to file by myself.

After all this she give me a form;

- passed the US History and English Interview,

-uscis will send you a written decision about your application.

I haven't heard anything from the IO yet,

How long will it take before i can be scheduled for oath taking?

Is there is anything I can do?

Please advice thanks for your help

Hi - you should probably start a new thread - I'm not sure how many people will see this post otherwise...

The thing I would be puzzled about if I'm the IO, is the taxes. Did you file last year as 'married filing separately' or something else? I'm not sure why your wife having a business is relevant to the personal tax returns (unless its LLC type of company), but even so, I'm not sure how married filing separately would help there. USCIS seems to love to see the joint tax returns...
