I have read several times that for the interview they should have the originals AND copies. They might or might not ask...best to be prepared.

IMO, their is nothing original that is needed by the consulate for the I-129F packet.... USCIS does not routinely require originals. It is not the consulate's job to to re-adjudicate the petition. If something original was needed in the petition, the USCIS would have asked for it.

If you hand in an original document you may not ever get it back. I know this first hand because my fiance mistakenly submitted my son's CRBA (Consular Report of Birth Abroad) at her fiance visa interview and now we will never get it back. Hand in copies but have originals on hand if they may ask to see them at the visa interview.
