We got married 10 days after I arrived.

We went, got our marriage license, contacted a notary and were married the weekend before last on our favorite beach. That simple. Legal. Binding. Lovely :-)

Has it ever been an issue when K-1ers simply plan a civil wedding? In lieu of the economy and because we're somewhat not the drink all you can partying kind, my fiance and I wanted to have an intimate and quick ceremony, no church and no big reception, dance the night away type of thingie. That's the reason I'm kicking back and relaxing and not worrying about any wedding details. I mean how much can you really plan within 90 days? Now out of paranoia, I wonder if COs will find that questionable or what. Has anyone been questioned for this?

No one will question you about it if you have a marriage certificate. All the best.

Am I the only different one here? Big wedding planned...sorry but you only get married once. You have to have the pictures and the big event to remember the date or you will regret it. If you know his/her arrival date then there is no reason why you can't start planning a nice wedding and have your family and friends there.

The subtitle of your thread's subject line says "within 90 months," which would put everyone a bit out of status, si man. :)

LOOOOLLLLLLLLLLL... oh God... my bad!

I so want to get married now after reading everyone's plans. It would be nice to have a clue of when I will be getting married... it looks like it's not gonna be at the beach. If I ever get my NO2, we're talking about winter wedding...brrrr and I'm in New England by the way. :crying:

Unfortunately immigrations is set up to test our patience. NOA1 to NOA2 is the longest, hardest part. Its very hard to plan anything when you just don't know. I wish you the best of luck on your journey.

With all the costs involved in the visa and immigration and flight tickets and moving and everything, it's unreasonable to expect normal people to be able to afford a big huge wedding.

We're gonna elope, a step up from courthouse. Maybe some place nice by the mountains or waterfall and then when we have enough money have the actual formal ceremony in a beach barefoot wedding in Hawaii. If beach weddings can be formal.

Can't imagine doing it in a courthouse.

N-400 Stuff:
07/02/16 : N-400 sent

07/11/16 : NOA1

07/28/16 : Biometrics

04/03/17: Interview (approved)

04/14/17: Judicial oath ceremony

I think that's like a wish for everyone. I would love to have a fairy tale wedding with my baba but he's not into the whole let's-drink-and-be-merry thingie and I frankly don't want to spend the dough lavishly in an economy so uncertain. It will be a while for us to get to the romantic wedding part...sounds like everyone here would like to have a part deux at some point.

BTW - if you're the USC, how did you manage to fly to Cuba? Are we not banned or forbidden to go there?

Hello all

Very new here. My first post. I am relieved to see all of the JP people on here. That is what I wanted to do, but I have been feeling like ICE wants

all sorts of "proof" of a marriage being planned. Caterers, church everything.

Am I understanding correctly that none of you JP marriage folks submitted anything related to a marriage being planned? Did you say in

your letter that you were going to the JP?

thanks

Tsaria

I am not yet a JP person but I have seen in some posts here that COs tend to ask what your plans are for the wedding, stuff like that. So I wasn't sure if wedding plans are subject to "AHA!" too. That's what triggered my paranoia and asked around here. :luv:
