I am wondering what is the correct answer for question 11

“Have you ever filed for this or any other alien fiancé(e) or husband/wife before?”

I only filed I-130 for her which is pending. She applied for visiting visa last year but not granted.

second question,

There is no place in the I-29F form to add my wife I-130 case number. Can I just send a copy of the I-130 NOA with the I-129F application.

Best not even to submit the I-129F and go with the I-130 solo. Surf around here. K3s are basically dinosaurs at this time.

K1 denied, K3/K4, CR-1/CR-2, AOS, ROC, Adoption, US citizenship and dual citizenship

!! ALL PAU!

I am LPR right now and will be USC sometime next week, sending I129F will trigger IO to get/look to my 1-I30 which I submitted 6/2008. I am sure it will help. I will not submit it if I am sending my I-130 for the first time. I appreciate any input about my questions above.

1. The correct answer is to check yes and then write "I-130 for this beneficiary".

2. Send a copy of NOA1.

Having answered your questions, I recommend you simply notify USCIS by phone and mail that you are now a Citizen and skip filing the I-129F. If you file it, you're likely to wish you hadn't.

Pushbark, thank you for your answer, my understanding, filing I-129f will not help if I am USC who filed I-130 already. In my situation, I am LPR who will be USC next week. I thought (in addition to the upgrade) filling I-129f will speed the process of my I-130. I will appreciate if you could elaborate on that.

No, the K-3 will not speed up the process of your I-130. In fact, it may slow it down substantially. When I filed, those who filed a K-3 were approved 6-8 weeks after those who filed just a I-130.

So really think about the K-3. It is almost twice as expensive with marginal benefits in the end.

Good luck.

Same thing happened to me a few months later. Lost over a month because of that I-129f.

Canadian Wife has already elaborated but this is also the most FAQ in the K3 forum, so the reasons not to file an I-129F for a spouse have been elaborated on ad nauseum. It won't help you and may well slow down your process.

All these guys were US citizen already when they filed their I-130. I need some info regard people who were LPR when they filed their I-130. As I mentioned, I-129f will not make sense for US citizen who already filed I-130 but how about an LPR who’s I-130 was filed couple years ago.

Asked and answered. Just upgrade your I-130 petition by notifying USCIS and/or NVC that you are now a citizen. K3 is obsolete and will not help you at this point. Yes, I mean "you", the one who filed two years ago as an LPR.
