Favourite Tim Horton's story

Yes, they do have a blueberry fritter. While some have just blueberries throughout, Tim's has blueberry jam in the middle as well. One day we had a meeting, and this guy I worked with, was very #######, and wore white starched shirts. Another staff across from him, at the meeting, grabbed a blueberry fritter from the box and took a huge bite out of it. The blueberry jam squirted out across the table and landed on the guy's white shirt sleeve. :o We all at first gasped, then I broke out laughing. He FREAKED! When I think about it, I don't know if he freaked more because of my laughing or the blueberry on his shirt. He went home to change, and didn't come back for the rest of the day.

That's hilarious! I would have loved to be there for that!

Every time I go home, I always bring back a box of 6 maple donoughts from Tim's. It's a ritual. It somehow makes me feel better and like I'm bringing a piece of home back with me to New Jersey.

My family was one of those crazy hockey families. We were always at the rink as my brothers both played AAA hockey and I played AA ringette and girls hockey. My mum and dad used to always take us there after our games. It was the only acceptable after-game food they'd let us eat. (sandwiches and soup)

I still have visions of my mum standing with a cup of Tim's coffee at one of the COLDEST rinks in Kitchener, Queensmount Arena, at 6am for my practices.

My mum and I often go there to have talks, now, and drink a coffee when I'm home.

Also, someone mentioned about the bus drivers stopping for tim hortons! Yes! In Ottawa they ALL do that and leave you on the side of the road while they line up to get their coffee.

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

Haha The Canadian love of Tim Horton's always seemed strange to me because growing up in Michigan I've always seen them but I never even ate at one before my wife moved to Canada. I will say that the sandwich I got there was good but now that I'm on this insanely healthy kick of eating I bet I'll never have one again. I guess it's kind of like the Krispey Kreme love here in Michigan now, only a lot more healthy at Timmy's.

I do always want to go to Timmy's when they have those hockey promotions and Roll Up the Rim to Win stuff on CBC haha.

My wife has been back since June 5, 2007. Now we're just livin' man, L I V I N :)

I think my favorite thing about Tim's is how sssllllooooooowwwwwwwww everything goes. There's no point in the drive-up window, it's quicker to go inside and get your food (proven by my boyfriend by getting out, going in, getting food, and coming back to sit in the still-waiting car) There are always six people doing nothing behind the counter when the line is out the door. It's too funny to be annoying! I come from the land of Dunkin' Donuts and two second order fulfillment

...I'd kill for a sour cream glazed, I wish Dunkin' Donuts would get it right - I'd have to drive an hour to the nearest Tim's (Maine)

I was working nights at a theatre at the time of this story and afterwork we all decided to go get Timmies. There was only 2 or 3 people working as it was 1 am and there was almost no one in the restaurant area. The young woman behind the counter groaned when we walked up and asked why the hell we would want to eat there. She tells us that this is her last shift, she quit today and she's off in an hour. If we'll meet her out back with some food she wants to take home for free then she'll give us whatever we want for free. Needless to say I think I ate more donuts that night than in my entire life combined.

Fun fact : Here if you work or worked at Timmies then you're called a Timmy-Ho. Myself included. In a town of only 40k we have 4 Tim Horton's. Almost everyone has worked there at some point or another.

I knew this girl in highschool that worked the night shift at Tim Horton's down the street and then came to school. I'm not sure how long that listed but I was amazed she could even pull it off. I think she was trying to support her drug habit.

Well my best Timmy's memory involves my Granny.... We lived across the street from eachother in Oakville, so we'd often go for a walk to the nearest Tim's. She'd always get coffee and a muffin and I always got tea and a cookie since I don't drink coffee. Anyway, when she died the family was having a private moment with her casket at the funeral home and we were allowed to each place an item in the casket with her. My Mom put in a Tim's cup with a few coffee grinds inside the cup so she'd always have her Tim's coffee with her :)
