Hello Everyone,

My I-129F has been approved, and I have my NVC case number. BUT, our case is still sitting at the NVC for AP. Is there anything I can do while in AP? Can we schedule the medical? Schedule the interview? Complete any additional forms? Any help you can provide will be most appreciated! Thanks :)

Congrats on the approval - boo on the AP...

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

WARNING: Phrases in this post may sound meaner than they were intended to be. Read the Adjudicator's Field Manual from USCIS

Thanks :) I should have been more specific. I have the I-134 and all supporting documents completed and ready to send. I'm more concerned about the interview and medical. Can I, Should I schedule them now?

Can't schedule the interview - often you may be able to schedule the medical. Check with your local civil surgeon's office.

What Otto and Karin said. A lot of civil surgeons have the requirement to bring your letter from the consulate with you in order to get your medical. You can't schedule your interview as anything can happen during AP.

Now even if they let you schedule your medical, I know you are super excited but I might suggest waiting a bit. AP can sometimes take awhile and the medical's are good for a year. On a K-1 visa once you get married and goto adjust as long as your medical isnt about to or hasnt already expired you shouldn't have to redo it. Sometimes they will RFE for a new one, but quite a few people just use the original ones. The reason I say this is, I'm not sure what the timeline for interviews is in Bulgaria...like how fast you will get one, but if you get stuck in AP for a bit (lets say worst case 2 months) and then it takes another 3-4 to get your interview for some reason, if you did your medical now it could be almost 6 months old by the time you get your visa, which may or may not cause an RFE for a new medical at the AOS stage, depending on when the visa is used, when you get married and when you file the AOS. I would wait until the Embassy/consulate has your paperwork from NVC to schedule the medical.

I absolutely agree with just_friend. That's what we've been told as well, no mater my visa is CR-1. Let me know when Dani will be having her medical, I need to schedule mine as well, so it'd be nice to be with her there :) Are you really coming to BG again soon? :wow::dancing:
