MANILA, Philippines - Huge crowds reminiscent of the 1986 "people power" demonstration took to Manila's streets Monday to honor the passing of former President Corazon Aquino, who captured the hearts of Filipinos by ousting a brutal dictator and keeping democracy alive in the Philippines.

The flag-draped coffin of Aquino, who died Saturday after a yearlong battle with colon cancer, was paraded atop a flatbed truck along the streets where the hundreds of thousands of protesters she inspired had faced down army tanks 23 years ago and toppled Ferdinand Marcos.

Tens of thousands of mourners left their offices, schools and homes and converged on streets and overpasses, clutching yellow balloons, waving yellow ribbons and showering yellow confetti from high-rises on to Aquino's casket. Yellow was her signature color and the symbol of the nonviolent mass movement that ushered in an era of democracy after 20 years of authoritarian rule.

"Our Wedding Prayer"

Lord, help us to remember when we first met,and the strong love that grew between us.

To work the love into practical things so nothing can divide us

Grant us a Love that grows stronger with each passing year.

We ask for words both kind and loving

and for hearts always ready to ask forgiveness as well as to forgive.

Guide us to overcome every challenge

and keep our dreams pure to each other always.

Dear Lord,we put our marriage into Your hands.Amen

If your heart acquires strength, you will be able to remove blemishes from others without thinking evil of them.

Hi, thanks for the link, I haven`t watch this news because we don`t have TFC. I just knew she was very -ill recently. I remember when I was studying my post grad.studies in Quezon city and during our culminating activity Pres. Cory Aquino was become our guest/speaker. I had a photos of her with my classmates and I was able to talk to her before. She was a very heart warming , soft spoken, and a religious poilitical leader. I admired her a lot for her courage and leadership.

May God bless her soul and may she rest in peace!

I saw the YouTube videos of The Buzz last Sunday. Every video just made me cry.

She is the most admirable president I could think of. She showed everybody that even a woman can be a President.

Paalam Cory Aquino!

You may say who is corrupt but Pres. Marcos was everything but that. The people around the president were the ones who were corrupt and he did his best to clamp down on corruption and weed out the undesirables as he declared martial law. But some of his undesirable underlings, e. g., Gen Ramos and Sec. Enrile, were legends in their own minds and took advantage of the president’s ill health and they were behind the president’s decline.

In contrast, Pres. Aquino was nobody compared to Marcos. She was more like an actor who tried to appease the feelings of the fans. The pundits say that she became president as she took advantage of the people’s grief on her husband’s assassination. She acted like she was the champion of agrarian reform in the Philippines but the reform bill that she signed exempted large sugar cane plantations such as her family’s Hacienda Luisita in Tarlac. Presidents who came after Aquino were not good either.
