Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

Is that a 340 or 440? Or is a Pontiac 389?

I'm not a Dodge guy but it sure isn't a Pontiac. The 389 used Rochester carbs and these are clearly Holleys. I believe it is a 440 or some variation thereof.

where is the six-pack to celebrate?

Charles Mary hasn't come back from the store yet. I asked her to bring some good beer and she said that I drink too much. Do I drink too much?

I've forgotten what the Rochester carbs look like. Then this must be Mopar.

The airhorn is rounder on the DualJet. The only other engine that used tri-power Holleys was the 427 Chevy. That was only offered in the Corvette between 1967-1969. It had a giant triangular air cleaner. This engine isn't a BBC.

I can't believe I forgot about the 427 tri-power in the Vette. That motor was something I lusted after in my younger days. The muscle car era was one of the finest in automotive history.

I must have been really tired, how could I forget the 1962 Ford 406 with the Tri-power option. :crying: :crying: :crying:

The L-89 option was a trick. The most powerful engine offered was the legendary L-88 but it was rated at only 430HP whereas the L-89 was rated at 435HP. The idea was that people would go for the higher rated engine. There was a guy who had the L-88 on my paper route when I was a kid.

Don't forget the aluminum ZL1.

That was never offered in the Corvette :bonk: :bonk: :bonk: . The program was scrapped. The Camaro went ahead via the fleet order system COPO (Central Order Processing Office). Two Corvette press cars were built, a road course model tuned by Zora Arkus-Duntov and I can't remember who tuned the drag race model. The drag race model was turning mid-to-high 10s with 4:88s out back while being driven by members of the press corps. :wow: :wow: :wow: :wow:
